Not without it wiping out everything. It will create a windows old folder and dump all your personal stuff and settings but it will erase all your programs and have to install.

That depends:

Go to Microsoft.com and download a software which will see if you have the correct hardware ability to run Windows 7. Its called the WINDOWS UPGRADE ADVISOR The website for such software is:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/upgrade-advisor

I hope this helps you and remember: NEVER EVER just install an operating system BEFORE knowing if your hardware or software is compliant to it.

Updateing Windows XP to Window 8 near the end of the setup, a error message comes up; Windows 8 setup has failed to apply migration data. How do i rectify this.

Hi,
I strongly recommend you to not upgrade from Windows Xp to Windows 8. First, you need Vista or 7 to do that with almost no errors.
When you enter the setup, did you check the checkbox which says to keep data or you didn't?

I down graded from vista to xp cant install drivers

Hello,

As for your problem Toshiba is not did not bother creating a Windows XP compatible drivers for the Model L500-018 as it is their high end Notebook for the year 2007 and discontinued it on 2009. what you can is to upgrade from Windows Vista Home to Vista Premium for more functionality and XP compatibility or upgrade to much better Windows 7 as the Vista drivers are accepted by windows 7 OS.

Hope this helps.

Our computer is on windows 7 and the mp3 player says only windows 2000 xp and vista. wat can we do about it so we can use it on our comp.

If it works with Vista it should work with Windows 7. They have the same basic structure. 7 just has more and better features.

I had been using windows xp before, but now i use win 7.while using xp,all the games were running but now they are not working, what can be the cause?please tell me the way to solve this problem.

If you are having trouble with windows 7 while your playing game(s). You need to downgrade your operating system to windows XP. But before that, try to right click the game icon and choose run as administrator.

I have a vaio laptop which on its screen has been written VGN-N250E and on the back of laptop computer model is PCG-7X1L. It seems that my laptop model is VGN-N250E. I couldn't install matlab 2006a on...

"Windows 7 will come to the table, from the get-go, with support for all Vista-certified drivers. Compatibility with devices designed for Vista ensures that users will have a seamless upgrade/migration experience." (taken from softopedia.com)

This means that all the "vista compatible drivers" should work on win7 without any problems.

Nero installation problem

If you have a version below 7, then Nero will not work with Vista. It was a well known issue with Vista and a reason why some people I know wouldn't upgrade to it.

Migration from xp to windows Vista

The Windows installation disc has an option to keep your existing files when migrating to Vista, but unfortunately there is no way of keeping your applications. These will need to be re-installed. You might want to make sure that they are all Vista compatible before making the switch!
