Kensington wireless mouse is compatible with this system:

PC-Windows® 98, Me, 2000, or XP with USB port
USB Macintosh® with OS 10.1.5 or later
USB Macintosh® with OS 8 and 9 device will only function as a 1-button mouse

If you buy this item you have a disk utility on it and provide the software to run on the system. If not you can download it at this site: http://us.kensington.com/html/4398.html

Razer Mamba Problem

I had this same issue when the software hung. I thought my mouse was dead(no lights, no response when plugged in on my Vista machine). The way I solved it was to goto my XP machine(this may work in Vista 32bit too but I have 64bit and didn't wanna chance it) and install the firmware update software.

After installing the software, run it and get to the screen that tells you to hold down the pairing button when connecting the mouse. Then make SURE your mouse is turned OFF via the ON/OFF switch on the bottom, then HOLD the pairing button on the bottom of the mouse and connect the USB cable. When you do this, you should see a note that XP sees a bootloader and it will want to install a driver for it. Let XP install automatically. When it is done installing the driver, click next on the software screen and it should say it sees the mouse and the UPDATE button should be green. Click it and it will update. This should work, even if it looks like your mouse is dead(no lights when plugged in and not being recognized properly).

The key parts are make sure the mouse is OFF(vai the switch on the bottom) before starting and also make sure you hold the pairing button down when connecting the USB cable. If your system doesn't see a bootloader when you connect the mouse, the update won't work properly.

Kennsington 72216 mouse continuosly clicking after changing batte

try installing the software that came with the mouse. if none came with it then go to the manufacturers website and down load the drivers. if none available then there might be something physically wrong with the mouse and you replace it.

How to install batteries on kensington wireless mouse 72214

Normal 0 If the mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, then try this.
Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.
Hope this helps. Bud
