Webcam not working or showing

My webcam isn't working. I have looked at a number of ways to solve the issue by right clicking my computer, going into driver installation and so forth, but to no avail. The laptop is new so maybe I haven't donloaded it or something coz it didn't come with any software. Please help???

I cant get driver for my a4 tech webcam pk 635m... what do i have to do?

Marshy mallo,
As promised, I am returning to assist you with your issue. I assume you were unable to either download or install the driver from A4tech's website, which was the advice I had given in the previous post.
The issue you may be experiencing is that the driver is not compatible here are some steps you may take to check this. Check Device Manager to see if the device has the correct drivers and is enabled. To do this:
Windows XP: Click Start, RIGHT-click My Computer, click Properties from the menu, click the Hardware tab, click the Device Manager button.
Windows Vista/7: Click Start, RIGHT-click Computer, click Properties, click Device Manager (in the left pane at the top).
Once in Device Manager, look for anything which may have a yellow question mark or exclamation point. RIGHT-click it and click uninstall. Then RIGHT-click Computer (at the top) and click "Scan for Hardware Changes." It SHOULD reinstall the device.
I hope this fixes this. The reason I'm having difficulty correcting your issue is due to lack of info. If you have additional issues, please repost your question with as much info as you can provide (go crazy) about your system, your webcam, and anything else which may assist (like: is this a newly installed webcam or is it one which was working at some point in time, when the webcam last worked, did you install any new hardware/software since it last worked, is it only disfunctional when using a particular app, your version of Windows (XP/Vista/7), is this a a4tech pk-635m (your description did not include the "m"), and anything else you think I should know). Also, post why the solution I provided did not work, like "I couldn't download the software/driver." I will look for your post and keep taking a swing at this. We will get it eventually! Thanks for using Fixya!

Hi..can you help me cause when i open my magic camera it does not work but before this it work...and when i want to record my own video to youtube it can't?can you solve this problem?i really want to...

If you can give me more details, like error messages or so, it would help much solving the issue.
However, try these steps:

1. Start>right click Computer>Manage>Device Manager
2. See if there are any drivers marked in yellow (triangle and exclamation mark), and if yes, right click on it and Uninstall. Then go to top menu and mouse over icons until you find "Check/Scan for hardware changes", click on it and wait-the driver will be automatically installed.
3. Restart your computer and try if the camera works.

In case the steps do not solve your issue, please contact me again and provide following:
1. Operating System (Start>right click Computer>Properties)
2. Webcam model and manufacturer
3. Error code or message you get when try to use your camera.

For some reason my web cam isn't working. It's been 2 days since it last worked

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

After reboot your problem should be resolved.

I've been trying to instale my creative webcam vf0330 on my PC to no avail. what will i do

Please, use the CD that you got with your camera: insert the CD, connect the camera to your computer and start installation; after the installation done, disconnect the camera and restart your computer.
Connect the camera again-it should work now.
Let me know if it works, so we can continue solving the issue.

Logitech Quickcam Chat - no sound recording!

At the bottom right of your screen, you should see an icon for volume. Right click and select Open Volume Controls. Click Options > Properties > recording and make sure all the boxes are checked. Click OK and make sure all levels are maximum and nothing is muted.
Next, right click the volume icon again, and select Adjust Audio Properties. Go to Audio tab and then Voice tab and select the appropriate recording device from the drop down menu.

By the way, your camera will only show up under Imaging Devices in the Device Manager and not under Sounds,Vidoe and Game controllers.

Hope that helps!

Hp webcam problem with live messenger

Had the same problem... Here's how I solved the problem...
But if you do this be careful... I take no responsibility...Just trying to help...
Go to your firewall settings & make sure Port number 443 Tcp & Udp are open... This gives access to secure Websites...
If you do not know how to open ports then get someone to help you
or do some reading in the internet on how to do it...
Fot windows xp just open the firewall & click exceptions then click port..
now just type in whatever name you want to call it then type in 443 as the port number & check tcp & click ok...Now go back again & do the same except this time check Udp.. After opening port 443 if it should by some chance be closed, try to use the webcam with messenger... Even if it does now work I also recommend that you go here & follow those instructions as well...
Those instructions start off by helping with sign in problems but as you scroll further down the page you will find many other tips and tricks that should help... I hope this will help to solve your webcam issues.
