I have been fixing peugeots for 12 years and never heard anything like that.
it is mrer then likley a faulty crank position sensor, coil pack or quite simply the fuel cut off switch needs resetting which should be located under the bonnet on the n/s (black unit with a red rubber top) just press the top and try starting the car..

if this helps let me know
cheers
big mike

Car wont start after its been garaged for a year

fuel pump probably locked up, or the fuel lines have deteriorated , or you have a blown fuse or relay.

Not a Peugeot expert, but there should be a safety switch to keep you from cranking the engine in gear.

Freeze plug, head gasket, hose to the heater core. You have to get back there and look.

I have a 2001 206 gti and the engine just died

hiya mate if you have got a live at the fuel pump when engine is turning over then your relay is working.
you could possably have a fauly crank position sensor (which can be checked using a code reader) which would stop the engine from starting, also check the fuel pressure switch has not been activated (this is located on the n/s/f inner wing and is a small black unit with a red cap on it)
it would also be a good idea to make sure the timing belt has not snapped.

Hi, peugeot 206 clutch/engine problem..

It seems like the clutch pressure plate has given in. Best would be to replace the clutch pro-kit.( Clutch pressure plate, clutch plate and release bearing)

Check the alternator belt for proper tension. Also check alternator voltage output. If output is low the rest of the systems can fail.
