Question about Olympia Mastertype 3 Typewriter

Unable to activate spellchecker

Although the keyboard indicates that spellchecker is available, I am unable to activate the function. I've tried using the "code" with the "on/off"/0 ) key but to no avail. I'm missing the manual so am at a loss for other methods. Thanks.

I don't have a key labeled "spellcheck". The following labels are shown on the front of the keys beginning with the Mar Rel key:

Additionally, the )0 key reads "on/off" on the front.

I had thought perhaps that code + "on/off" would activate it, but that doesn't seem to work. I tried code + "spell" but that didn't work either. Thanks for any help you can provide!

It sounds like you have a Keyboard 2 setting on. Check the keys and or switches and make sure you are in Keyboard 1.

I have a swintec 8014 s and I would like to use the less than carrots and the more than carrots above the 7 and 8 on the number line. they are not the usual shift key characters, so that is what I want to...

You need to activate "keyboard II) (keyboard 2). There is either a separate KBII key you need to press OR it's a 'code' function in which case you hold down the 'code' key then press the kb2 code key, then release the 'code' key.

Sound alarm

Your description is somewhat vague. Possibly you are getting the 'alarm' sound as you type. If this is the case the typewriter could have the spellcheck function turned on. Or possibly your right and left margin are set too close to each other causing the alarm to sound.
