Re: new bulb replacement
About 5 to 10 seconds. If you're having issues there are a few things to check and try:
-make sure it's the right remote.
-make sure the remote is in TV mode (it's a universal remote)
-make sure you're aiming the remote at the IR sensor on the set (easiest if it's in your left hand).
If you've checked all of the above, there are a couple of other things you can try if pressing and holding the buttons together do not work:
-Try pressing and holding the VOL- button first then a split second later hit the SPLIT button on the remote, then hold them both together for the specified time. also try the opposite.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Try this, using the Panasonic remote, wait until the notice about your lamp goes AWAY (it wont work with the message still up). Hold the volume down on your tv while holding the split/play button on the remote. You will get a notice about 4-5 seconds later that it was reset.
1) Press the POWER button to turn your TV on. Make sure you are set to Cable/TV reception. If the "replace lamp. Reset Lamp timer" notice appears, press "EXIT" on your remote. 2) Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN BUTTON on the TV set (not the remote, the actual TV set) 3) Continue to press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button and press and hold the PIP (Picture in Picture) or SPLIT/PLAY button on your REMOTE control (your are pressing and holding BOTH of these buttons at the same time now). 4) After 5 or 10 seconds (be patient), the lamp serice menu will appear and say your lamp counter has been rest to '0' (zero). That's it, you are all done.
Now, I continue to have the power shut off after a few minutes of play. I think it is a problem with the cooling fan. Damn it all anyway.
hold the volume button down on the t.v. & the split button on the remote at the same time for about 8 to 10 seconds. The t.v. tech. did this with my panasonic 61lcx65. Also I had 2 fairly large red / orange & 1 blue spots on the screen which I thought were a result of the bulb being bad , but the tech. attached a device he called an eeprom jig & it reset the chip ? Now the picture is like new again.
Hold the volume down button on the tv until the volume is at min. then continue to depress the volume down button on the TV. While depressing the volume down button the tv hold the pip or split button on your remote for approx 5 sec. You will see a box pop up that says lamp timer reset and gives instruction on how to exit.

Most modes can be reset by holding the volume down button on the tv until the volume is all the way down. Some models are different and while depressing the volume down button on tv press and hold the split key on the remote. Most times these instruction come inside the lamp box you purchased.
I just had my picture go out two weeks ago. I took it to a local tv repair shop. They replaced the thermal fuse. I also had a spare lamp so they also replaced that. I'm not sure if they reset the lamp meter but this is what I found surfing around...try at your own risk. I'm going to try this when I go home tonight.
Press the power button to turn the unit on. While pressing the Vol-(volume down) button on the projection display, hold down the PIP button on the remote control at the same time for more than 5 seconds. When the reset procedure is complete the following message will appear on the screen. "Lamp time was reset to 0".
