All I managed to do so far is remove the front grille. Looks like one could push out the entire innards somehow

Ok all you have to do is remove the front grille. Then, with a small screwdriver carefully go around the inside of the casing to remove the glue and the you can push the innards out!

I have the same problem. I have had a go at getting inside but it definately looks completely sealed. I know it is still under warranty but I recon it is just a dry solder - I am considering busting the outer case to have a look...

Disconet inside wires

The correct term is "solder" it (or them) back. This is basic stuff and if you don't know how to solder - and perhaps don't even have a soldering iron - that can't be explained her in a brief answer. Get Googling on "soldering iron" and "solder" if your first language is English, ot translate first if it isn't. Finally, if you do attempt a repair, go very carefully with the tiny wires inside a mic body..

PR20 mic has three colored cables inside.. red black and yellow. the yellow has lost its solder. despite this it still works. what does the yellow cable do, and which prong inside should i re-solder it to?

Two of the wires are signal (1 is + the other is -). The third wire is ground. The two signal wires will go to either side of the mic diaphragm. (looks like a miniature speaker). The ground wire will usually go to the mic body. The colors could be proprietary to Heil so I'm not sure what they are based solely on color. If it's an "active" mic with an internal circuit board then there is no telling.

Typically the red and yellow would be the signal wires, the black would be the ground, however, as previously stated, this can not be guaranteed if Heil uses a proprietary setup.

Have a beta 57a it wont work ? nothing

I'm assuming that you have tried the obvious stuff like using a different cable and a different amplifier?
The Shure beta 57a is a very robust and reliable dynamic microphone and there is very little to go wrong with it apart from
  1. A wire broken off inside
  2. A broken capsule - can be caused by dropping it
You can inspect for broken wires by very gently unscrewing the microphone head and peering inside - however the wiring is quite short so be careful not to pull any wires off in the process.
A broken capsule can be replaced - contact your local dealer for parts.

No sound from my sm58 mic

The SM58 is a very rugged and reliable microphone and there are not many things to go wrong with it.
Assuming that you have tried using a different cable / amplifier to issolat ethe problem to teh microphone itself the most likely things are.
  1. A wire has come off inside - gently unscrew the top of the mic - lift it off carefully lift because the wires inside are quite short.
  2. A broken capsule - this usually results from dropping the mic on hard surfaces. Replacement capsules can be bought quite cheaply.Just tak careful note of the wiring order before disconnecting the old one.

most likely a loose connection inside suggest,
check battery is held tight in place, if not then it might be possible to very gently bend the battery terminals just enough to help the connection.
if not battery connections then its inside the mic could be the power or the capsule wiring, need a tech or the dealer to take a look

hope this helps

Weaker sound,not a fake.

Check the wiring at the xlr first, maybe 1 leg of the balanced output has come off or maybe a bad solder joint inside.

If its weak and thin then it sound like this might help.

Hope this helps
