Not sure what you mean. Can you describe the "separation pad" color, size, apparent feature, please...

Hp laserjet p3005dn printer taking 3 papers

Your problem description is not clear, but based on experience I bet that your printer is taking three sheets of paper at a time. The pickup roller in tray 2 and the separation pad in the tray are probably worn out. They are easy enough to replace. You can verify that printer works properly by printing from manual feed tray and if that works ok then above solution is likely your fix.

My dell mfp 1600n will not feed paper without jamming in the auto feeder...what is wrong?

if the problem is with the paper from tray, suspect the rubber tires on the pick rollers are bad. You can remove them and flip them inside out and reinstall

Have you tried printing a page from the hand feed tray ( if you pull down the front door you can feed it thru there.) take the paper out of the internal paper tray

Frequent paper jams on a Dell 1600n AIO, sometimes doesn't grab the paper from the tray (not really a jam, just need to open and close tray), sometimes gets caught halfway through the path -- need to open...

This could be caused from the papers you use at times(weight). Call on a Dell representative to check it out for you if you bought it from a Dell shop.

Thanks

My printer says I need paper. It has paper. Will not print or copy

Try to update the Firmware, or check the sensor of the feeder could be out of place and doesenot recognize the paper.

Check your manual feed tray. The printer may have a print job in memory that's pointing there.

Document Jam in Dell 1600n

The Automatic Document Feed (ADF) has a white rubber pad that wears out. You can find it by opening the ADF cover and removing the roller bar. Under that is the white rubber pad. Pinch the sides together and the assembley comes out. Contact Dell for the replacement. You may also refer to the Dell 1600n Owners Manual for instructions.

Printer Jamming with too much paper

This is a common problem with HP printers. I can't say that I have worked on a Dell printer but they probably use the same or similar mechanism to pull paper from the tray. The problem is a worn separator pad which costs about $5.00. The real cost will be in getting to it. It is not something for a novice to try. Better take your unit to a reliable repair shop.
