Oil periodically using special shredder oil. It goes on the paper as you shred it. Dont overload the shredder. Empty regularly. Dont wait for it to shut off due to being full. Check your owners manual for other particulars for this make and model.

I am sure you have already solved it or moved on but johnd393's comment at https://www.fixya.com/support/t1766897-disassemble_mailmate_spl_727mm helped me.
To reach the screws in the tray drill 6 holes in the bottom plastic and use a really long screwdriver to access them.

I used a 12 inch uxcell #1 Phillips screwdriver, which also worked on the 2 long screw holes hidden under the feet. You could probably get away with 10 inch or a #2 Phillips but with #2 screwdrivers check the width of the shaft first as the screw holes under the feet were too small for the #2 I originally bought.

It has toner but no print is coming out on paper

Please try to perform a maintenance cleaning as this is caused by a clogged nozzle.. this may also depend on the type of printer you are using.... by the way what type of printer are you using as the maintenance can be performed by either thru the driver (on your computer) or through the printer itself. the process is called HEAD cleaning.

do it for about 3x. note: head cleaning takes in ink and may cause the ink level to go down.

hope this helps ...

The shredder runs perfectley in the reverse direction, but does not run at all in the shredding direction

I have seen many shreaders that are caked with paper underneath the blades.
After you remove the power, turn the shreader upside down (if possible )and completely clean the area.
Make sure you use shreader oil after you clean it
