Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

I have a KLH bassbite II sub, not sure how to connect it to my receiver. Can you help? There are 4 wire amp inputs and 4 speaker wire outputs which I am assuming are right and left channels. There are two other low inputs, one is mono. Lastly a power switch and volume but I'm still clueless.

Forget the 4 wire inputs on the sub as you have pointed out. use the low mono input only.this can be plugged into any audio out connections at the amplifier.so it is one rca/low wire from sub to amplifier then plug in power cord and adjust volume as desired.

How to install KLH asw10-20 to a 7.2 receiver

Yes, the 10-120 can use a L & R low level subwoofer input. You can get a short 6" RCA splitter adapter from Radio Shack for a under $10. (1 female input, 2 male outputs) Alternately, just plug the subwoofer output on your receiver to just the low level R channel on the KLH sub.

Can I hookup a Sony receiver STR-DE505 to a Bassbite 2 KLH Audio system and how??

Yes.

It's frustrating that KLH manuals seem impossible to find anywhere online BUT a simple picture will suffice...

Go here and supersize the picture of the rear of the sub...

http://cgi.ebay.com/KLH-Audio-Systems-Bassbite-V-Model-E214708-Speaker-/110673631693

Run your front channel speaker wires to the CLEARLY-MARKED connectors on the sub and daisy-chain your front speakers to the CLEARLY-MARKED connectors on the sub.

Adjust the sub volume to match the front speakers levels. This will give you local volume control at the Sony.

How do i connect my klh bassbite V subwoofer to my sony receiver model str de335?

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/STRDE335.PDF

I am basing hookup on my Bassbite !! manual. The procedure should be the same as on your Bassbite V

I have given you a link to your Sony Owner manual. It looks like you will connect your sub to the sub output on the rear of your reciever using the rca cable. Woofer out on the Sony to the R/Mono input on your Bassbite. If you have the front and rear speakers hook your rears into the rear speaker outputs then connect your front speakers to the front speaker outputs of your Sony. Your speaker jacks on the Bassbite will not be used for this configuration.

Now, adjust your speaker size setting for "SMALL" or "LARGE" speakers as appropriate for your setup (this is for the front and rear speakers and will not effect your Bassbite). Now set your Sony subwoofer output to "ON" You access this setting through your menu. That should be located on your remote for the Sony. You will want to refer to the manual to find the exact method to access your system menu.

If the link to your manual doesn't work for you then go to http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-documents.pl?mdl=STRDE335 and click on Operating instructions.

Hope this helps. Let me know okay? By the way, if this works for you you should be very pleased with the sound quality :-)

Kindly, DAVID (sean1dave)

I have a KLH SW-90 amp. When I plug in the RCA plugs I don't get any sound to the Satelight speakers. Is this a sub amp? Do I need to hook up the high input wires to make the satelight speakers work?

I have the same amp. there a two ways to use it: The phono plug inputs are low level, are for use as an amplifier only, and their only output is the subwoofer output. In this case, any stereo satellite speakers would be driven directly from your stereo amp.
The high level inputs are meant to be driven as the same as speakers from your stereo amp. A circuit inside samples the bass and directs it to the sub amp and output. this same circut passes unamplified outputs to the satellite outputs. PM me at moestevens@cox.net if you need further info.

Try the KLH site. I have downloaded (for free) info on KLH products. Not much on technical stuff, but set up info and connections.

How do I connect this subwoofer to my reciever

The simplest way is to insert the sub into the speaker wire run -- connect your receiver's speaker output to the sub input, then the sub output to the speakers.

These are the "High Level" connectors on the left side of your sub.

If your receiver has a subwoofer out (either one or a stereo pair) then you'll get better quality sound by connecting that output to the "Low Level" connector or connectors on the right. If you have stereo, then use both connectors. If your receiver only has one subwoofer output, then connect it to the left (may or may not me marked as "mono" depending on the age of your sub)

Hopefully that helps. If it's confusing, post back questions or post the details (brand and model) for your receiver.

It is a klh powered subwoofer, which buzzes when plugged in, even though the power switch is set to "off"

Sounds like the grounds are screwed up. Try using a grounded wire for the subwoofer input. If that doesn't work, it sounds like something is internally screwed up, like the power supply doesn't fully power down. I guess besides buying a new amp, just connect it to a power strip where the switch is accesable and shut the sub off with the power supply.

I have a klh asw120 subwoofer annd a pioneer receiver. the hookups behind the receiver has one output and the subwfr has a l & r input. does this need a y splitter or is there a certain way to connect...

On the subwoofer's L&R input, you'll see a tiny "mono" next to the Left input. Hook up your receiver's single sub output to this jack and you're all set.

Subwoofer VERY weak

According to the KLH manual for the 9906 "6 pack" with the BassBite sub... it says "if your sub is connected via the speaker - level terminals, your reciever must be set for "NO" subwoofer - even though you are using one. VErify proper polarity on your speaker connection wires. (red or gold to +, black or silver to -). Depending on how you have your woofer connected to the reciever, if connected to a reciever without a subwoofer out then set your reciever for LARGE speakers and turn the subwoofer setting "OFF". Failure to do so will result in little to no bass. If you do have a subwoofer out from your reciever adjust your speaker size setting to small or large speakers as appropriate. Set the recievers sub output to ON. Connecting small speakers to a reciever set for LArge speakers can result in damage to small speakers.

Hope this helps.
