Question about Hotpoint WD62 Front Load Washer / Dryer

Hotpoint WD61 stops near start of wash cycle

Washer/Dryer had clogged pump (too much dog hair!). Fixed this, but it still doesnt work . It seems to have worked briefly (one cycle), then stopped working again (:

If I set it to a wash cycle, the drum fills part way, the dial moves round to point straight
down, then the machine stops. Silent, nothing happening, it seems.

If I set it to spin, it pumps out all the water, the drum doesn't turn.
It moves on to tumble, the heater and fan at the top come on. And the drum emptying
pump continues to operate. It seems to do this forever.

Is this a sensor failure? Which one?

Whatever I try to do, it gets to a point where it gets stuck

I got someone in to fix it.

The problem was the brushes on the main motor. Swapped these out
for new ones and it was up and running. Of course the brushes were
18 quid ($36), and the call-out and labour were 45 quid ($90). But
the guy was confident and fast.

Thanks for the suggestion about the timer. The guy said the extra load
on the motor from not draining probably did for the brushes.

All in the timer. but there may be nothing wrong. sometimes in the cycle there will be a gap between water full and agitate or between drain and spin depending on settings. try it again and let it go and if there is a gap of more than 5 minutes than it needs a timer. most machines timers are right around $75 and you can most likely replace it yourself. sears appliance parts is the place to buy it. you can order it and they will deliver it to your door. or if you can get the phone # most of the outlets have a parts dept. also they take parts back for full credit for any reason.

Hotpoint Aquarius Model WD61 Washer Dryer working but it's noisey

If you've just installed it for the first time ensure that transporting locks been removed (big screws under usualy yellow or white plastic covers at the back side of the machine)
Make sure that machine is standing flat on the floor with no swinging whe you try to move it, this can be achieved by adjusting four legs of the machine (one at each corner).
If neither of those helps than you need to identify when the noise appears what machine is doing at that moment. If the noise appears when it's draining, pumping water out, than your machine's pump is wearing out, or if it's noisy when spining (final spin) than bearing of the drum is wearing out.

Update me about your progress

Good Luck

Door Locked. Cannot open. Washine inside.

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines..............And please rate me if helped

1, your pump may be blocked by fluff coins and other debris.
2. more likely bushes worn on the main motor not giving enough umphhh (loverly word) to go through a complete spin....Bushes easily replacable. Job start to finish with parts on hand a machine mechanic 10-15mins top Diy er like me an hour allways have trouble finding the right spanner... Good luck.
