    Maybe try softpedia.com

    http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-C...

either this or go buy a usb to audio adapter.

The usb audio adapter plugs into any usb port and configures automatically. I might have 2 or 3 of these lying around.

    My email is mewms_14904@verizon.net

Drop me a line and I'll email you a program to run and then you can email me back the html log.

I have several drivers for realtek audio, but I need to know what chip set is on your board as 1 driver/software is for VIA. There is a program that can be downloaded that gives Sys info, AIDA-32 Enterprise system info.
    http://jettaus.com/Article/Support

Scroll down on the page, it's under useful tools, It's listed as NewKeysRetriever.exe This program will identify motherboard, chipset, bios, devices, processor, ram, etc.

There is no volume in my PC but i have the windows media player program which is ok but no volume

Chances are your computer's sound drivers are faulty. Your best bet it to download the latest sound drivers for your sound interface on the motherboard or internal card you're using. This might sound stupid, but check all of the volume mixer settings before doing anything. Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one.

1. I reinstalled Windows XP from restoration CD, now icons and fonts are in large sizes and there is no sound.

Sounds like a driver problem. You will have been provided a CD with your computer, perhaps the same one you restored Windows XP from, with all of the drivers that were installed on your computer out of the box. If you install all of the drivers on there, the sound and display should revert to normal.
If you can't find the CD, you need to find out the model of your sound and video cards and download them from the manufacturers' websites.

Pop up says no sound device

Check and download the sound card driver from the vendor site or if know the sound card details, search for the respective driver from the internet and install the same will solve your problem.

Note: Real player is only for playing music files, not for sound device purpose.

Revert back for more clarification or assistance, with sound card details, so that i will help you to download the drivers for the same.

My sound stopped working on my computer and the sound icon has disappeared

Go to Control Panel->System->Hardware->Device Manager->Sound,Video & Game Controllers & see if the sound drivers are properly installed or not.If not the re-install them again. You should have the Sound (on Board or Card ) Drivers CD/Floppy wth you to do it.Else try internet to download your audio drivers.
