HP Pavilion dv7-1130us laptop Logo

My HP Pavilion dv7 1020us won't charge. I have the plug turned into my computer, when I plug the adapter and the cable into my laptop, it doesn't work. First it worked perfectly. But now, its very difficult to charge my laptop. Sometimes I turn the plug from my computer a few times around and plug it more in and out and after trying a whole time, it works. It takes everytime more and more time to charge my laptop. I bought my laptop in the USA, now I'm living in the Netherlands. But it worked the first months back in the Netherlands fine. Thanks.

Ok what sometimes happens is that the power cable breaks close to the Jack, or the Jack, cracks away the solder on the Motherboard... you first need to establish if you PSU, is actually putting out power, you can do this with a meter set to Volts. If it is OK, then your problem is on the MB, if NOT it is the Plug, wire to plug etc, check all this before you get a new supply, which hopefully that is what it is... If the MB cracked out... then it is a job for a service man.. or if you are handy with a soldering iron, it can be done yourself. On rare occasions it is the actual power unit Inside the PC...

Hp pavilion dv6 2117ax will not power up

Since you already got a new charger, then the problem could be the power jack of the laptop and/or the connections inside the laptop.

Try to plug the power adapter slowly and try to wiggle it. It you feel that the power jack is wiggling, then the problem is a loose power jack that is why it won't charge. And you need to have a tech tighten that up for you.

My laptop is not charging. it says 0% available (plugged in, not charging) plz help i have a stock hp pavilion dv5

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Your laptop still not charge even with the battery removed?
I guess you need a new adapter. Or you can test with a known working adapter first.
