I have a SVP HDDV 2200. I can't get the flash to work with the video option. it will work with the camera option though. I even tried walking into a completely dark room but i cannot get the flash to come on at all.

the big red f on the screen is for full. without a memory card the camera just playes a few secongs of video. i had the same problem,... got a card and now it works ok

Buy items on ebay or other online aution sites can be chancy. Most items work at least as promised, others don't. If you don't have the manual. you might try looking up manual online then download. Or you can take in for service/check up
