TV will not power back on. We turned tv off at night and the blue light comes on, tried to turn tv back on next day and NOTHING. Blue light goes out and tv will not power back on with the remote or manually with the button on the tv. Tv was purchased last fall so it is less than 6 months old.

A couple times we have tried unplugging then waiting a while and it may come on. Most of the time it will not unless you do this a bunch of times.

Our TV is about a year old and its doing the same thing as the blue light comes on but no signal. I want to know if we can sue olivia for defective products this seems to be a wide spread problem with this TV. The mfg doesn' t seem to want to take responsibility for their defective product.

Same problem.  Manufacturer suggested main board replacement for 362.45 (part only) or power supply for 97.15 (part only).  Coupled with TV repair at manufacturer estimated 2 hours at $65 is more than half the original purchase price (800).  I'm contemplating purchasing a different TV.

I have the same problem on mine and my grandmas. I wish some one would file a class action law suit.

We have a very similar problem, we will be watching a program & the tv just goes off on its own. The blue standby light is not lit while the tv is down, the tv will not turn on using the remote or the power button. We wait about 5 minutes, the blue light finally comes back on & the remote is then able to turn the television back on.

I TURNED MINE OFF AND SPARKS FLEW OUT OF THE BLUE LIGHT SWITCH AND I RECEIVED A SHOCK. NOW THE TV IS COMPLETELY DEAD

Same problem...TV suddenly went out. No power, blue light out. Can't get it back on. Purchased less than a year ago.

I have the same problem. While playing my xbox 360 on the TV, the Olevia LCD TV just went pitch black. No power at all it seems like. The annoying blue standby light is not on either. I tried unplugging the power cord from both the wall and from the tv but no help. I turn on and off the switch on the back of the tv but still no solution. I own this TV for close to 2 years now. WILL NOT BUY OLEVIA TV ANYMORE, CHEAP PRICE BUT BAD QUALITY. I should have put out $300 more bucks to get a name brand TV that will probably still be working now. Very dissapointed in Olevia lcd tv...A quick review of Olevia LCD TV if someone decides to google it.

We have the same problem. Playing wii and TV goes "pop" and dies. No blue light, nothing. We took the power supply unit from an identical TV and TV came on but started to blow fuses. Part only is $97.15 + $10 s&h. Don't bother trying to get any help out of SyntaxBrillian. They've abandoned their corporate offices and the 3 whole customer service people are total jerks! NOT worth the $700 for the TV or the additional $110 to fix it. If you need parts get them while you can. They guy told me this is 70% of the complaints, they aren't issuing recalls, and when they're gone they're gone!

Same exact problem here, although my TV managed to last 1 & 1/2 years. Now its dead. THAT was almost worth the price! ($700)

My olevia 747 B11 not power, a blue led is just hanging

From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience.
If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Olevia 542-b11 LCD HDTV won't turn on. Blue light blinks twice

My Olevia 42" television is several years old. In March of 2012, the infamous "TV will not power on" problem started.

The blue LED light on the front of the TV would go off for a split second, then light up again. The television would not start.

If you are handy with small tools and a soldering iron, you can change the capacitors on the power supply. My Olevia is a model 542-B11.

I bought the repair kit off eBay from seller: sghill99

As of this writing, the seller has sold 37 of these kits. The title of the auction is: Repair Kit, Olevia 542-B11, LCD TV, Capacitors

And if the url is still active, it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230554940338&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160

I made the repairs in March 2012 and it is now August 2012 and the television is still working great. It is turned on and off several times every day.

32 in olevia 332-b11 tv and the color is going bad how do know if it's the master backlight inverter or the other one

It is neither. Your inverters do not control your picture color. All they do is power the back-lights. If your color is going out, odds are it is in your main board.

My olevia 42 in power doesnot come on. blue light was on when I pushed power to turn on tv. Blue light went out but tv did not come on. Blue light didn't not come back on. Television was working good. I...

You may be aware that Olevia is bankrupt and apparently Emerson bought the leftovers and is offering service but no parts sales.
I found this thread discussing antoher model's various problems but I believe your power supply has likely failed.
Olevia thread
If it is the type of failure related to the switched-mode power supply, these can be repaired by a properly equipped tech; I've done hundreds of them while still in business (which I am no longer).

My 42 inch olevia 242fhd-t11 tv just shut off and will not come back on.. The blue led light will not come on either... Also was having intermittent sound issues for the last couple of days prior to it not...

I just repaired this identical problem on the same model TV. You have a bad power supply (also known as an SMPS). The board is model FSP271-4F02, and is about $75. Unlike the main board for this TV, you can find the power board relatively easily. Try shopjimmy, for example. Replacing the board isn't too difficult if you have a reasonable mechanical ability, have some tools, and are careful.

Most likely a power supply component has aged and thus changed value and/or failed. Take it to a reputable repair person

The HDMI port on my Olevia Model 337-B11 LCD tv quit working. Is there an easy fix?

Without replacing the main board, probably not. Did you try another HDMI source to verify the TV is at fault? If it is the cheapest fix is to use component only.
