Is my DVDR985 worth fixing? This unit failed within the first year and was sent to Houston for repairs. The repairs didn't last and when the warranty expired, Philips could care less. With nearly $500 invested in this dust collector, is there any chance this unit can be fixed economically?

Thanks for the prompt reply. After discussing the problem with a Philips rep., Philips decided to send me an exchange unit for no charge other than my paying for the shipment.
