When I press the 'green phone' to make a call I don't get a dial tone but a beeb beeb beeb. When trying to check new calls by pressing down arrow I get 5 beebs. When I press int/hash to check new message I get the beeb beeb beeb described above.

hi ... try this, change the cord in first.
if this don`t work: and make this test. whit another phone connected maybe in other place of the house(check first if you have dial tone ), plug the problematic phone, wait few minutes press talk on the other phone. if don't have dial tone the problem is the phone unit ,was impact by a lightning on the phone line.
few minutes after you connect the cord the line make a shortcut.
only an electronic technician can repair that, and sometimes is expensive.
If you mean the 10 number stored in 00-09, from the phone, pick up the handset (or press intercom) and dial *30 00-09 9 plus the number and # You'll hear a confirming tone. That stores the number. To dial, you press Autodial *00-09 and it dials the number.
What's under the buttons? Press PROG and the button and it will show what's there. Probably a digital station that isn't there. Press 2 and STORE and you'll clear the button.

Green indicator message light ON (should only work with the TG1000N base unit) all the time till battery runs down. Display shows message ?C533?. The KX-T7730 is a proprietary phone that needs to be connected to a Panasonic phone system. It sounds like you took the phone home and are trying to use the special features. These phones are "dumb terminals" everything is performed (and stored) at the control unit.
