This is the initial sign of the camera coming loose from the socket on the main board.

If it still in warranty then send it out for repair.

If it's out of the warranty then you can put a foam or plastic spacer to under the battery cover.

Just like the battery foam pad under the battery cord to give it firm support.

Place few tab of supporting material under the battery cover. Make sure they does not cover the lense or the flash.

Next time the camera give you the error message again or ghost like image.

Take the battery out and press the camera and flash area firmly until you hear a soft plastic snap sound.

Once the camera contacts snap back in place then your are back in business.

I can't get picture messages from blackberry's

update your OS or reflash it

2. You need to install a BlackBerry OS file that is specific to your device. The original version, as supplied by the carrier, is the safe choice, but you can use any model specific version. This is not supplied on your BlackBerry CD, Ref: 3 links to BlackBerry's download pages.

3. Once the OS has been installed, you have to prepare it for the device.

Select Start / Computer and select the Drive C: Icon.

Open Program Files / Common Files / Research in Motion / AppLoader.

Navigate to the bottom and delete the file Vendor.XML file.

4. You are now ready to restore your device. Verify that BlackBerry Desktop Manager is NOT running. Plug the device directly into the computer's USB port.

We are about to venture into the bowls of the beast. Windows is not suitable for this job, we are going to invoke the Command line interface with an option switch.

Windows XP: Start / Run... / Command

Windows Vista: Start / Command (type this into 'start search')

Visor Deluxe OS3.0.1 Fatal Error

Your application is for an upgraded version of the Palm OS. Say you had a Palm OS version 2 or something. If you download an application for Palm OS 5, obviously it won't work because the application is for a later version. Make sense? To remedy this, you will have to delete the application and get one with a version that matches or is lower than your Palm's.

Blackberry Pearl: memory issues?

I do apologize you are having this issue with the Blackberry pearl 8100. Lovely device.
The manufactur, RIM is aware of the memory issue. It's a known malfunction of the device. Luckily, there's a way to fix it, and keep your pictures, logs, address book, etc.. from deleting.
First, you should have a 1GB card for your photos.
Second your phone stores what it does. So, when ever you exit an application press the back button. NOT the hang up button. It'll only leave that application running in the back ground.
Third, you can clear history by holding on ALT+LG+LG. You'll get an event log. Press MENU key, and select "Clear history".
Next, clear the cashe. Open up Internet browser, press the menu key and select clear cashe. Once you have done that, press the back button to the begining. Save all pictures on the memory card. If you don't have memory card, connect your Blackberry to your PC and use the desk top manager to sync your media over via USB cord.
Now, that you are connected via USB cord and have the desk top manager up, run application loader. This should take a total of 20 minutes. Do not REMOVE from the cord. You'll ruin the OS on the Pearl.
Once all is cleared out, and updated. Do a check on your camera, your call log, and sms's. Periodically, delete your text messages. I would say, once or twice a month run the application loader. You can always check out www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade for the latest and great software for you Blackberry. Or, go to www.blackberry.com/btsc for tips & tricks!
RIM always updates their software every 2-4 months. That way you'll keep your Blackberry longer and stronger! Enjoy!

Cheers!

Get pic slideshow when i try to open camera mode

on the top left hand side of your phone there is a slide button. I believe yours is slid to the bottom, the third option. That makes the slideshow appear everytime you open the camera option. Slide it all the way to the top. That is the camera option. The middle one is the camcorder

Problem with camera on my pearl

I have had this problem for about 8 months. I have tried everything and nothing works. I accidently found out a fix:

It appears the problem of my Pearl was the bad connection of the camera. When I start the camera, if I squeeze the phone body hard around camera area to make a better connection, the camera works right away. This works for me 100%. I hope you have the same luck.

Jornada 525 OS

To list your CE version, you can go to the Today screen and select the Start button to pull down the menu. Select Settings (not HP settings). From the Settings screen, select the System tab at the bottom. At the top of this page, select About. This will list your CE version. Mine is Version 3.0.9348 (Build 9616). It also will list the Processor (SH3) and Memory (15.87 MB).
