Question about Barebone Systems

I have a Brother PT-15 Labeler that does not print labels. I have changed the tape and still no results.

I no longer have my manual, how do I change the ink cartridges for the HP Officejet 6300 all-in-one?


To replace the print cartridges
1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is on.
Caution If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door
to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the
cartridges for changing. You might damage the HP All-in-One if the print
cartridges are not docked safely on the right side when you try to remove
them.
2. Open the print cartridge door.
The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One.
3. Wait until the print carriage is idle and silent, and then lightly press down on a
print cartridge to release it.
If you are replacing the tri-color print cartridge, remove the print cartridge from the
slot on the left.
If you are replacing the black or photo print cartridge, remove the print cartridge
from the slot on the right.
4. Pull the print cartridge toward you out of its slot.
5. If you are removing the black print cartridge in order to install the photo print
cartridge, store the black print cartridge in the print cartridge protector or an
airtight plastic container.
If you are removing the print cartridge because it is low or out of ink, recycle the
print cartridge. The HP Inkjet Supplies Recycling Program is available in many
countries/regions, and lets you recycle used print cartridges free of charge. For

6. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and, being careful to touch
only the black plastic, gently remove the plastic tape by using the pink pull tab.
7. Slide the new print cartridge forward into the empty slot. Then gently push on the
upper part of the print cartridge forward until it clicks into the socket.
If you are installing the tri-color print cartridge, slide it into the left slot.
If you are installing a black or photo print cartridge, slide it into the right slot.
8. Close the print cartridge door
9. If you installed a new print cartridge, the print cartridge alignment process begins.
10. Make sure you have plain paper loaded in the input tray, and then press OK.
11. The HP All-in-One aligns the print cartridges. Recycle or discard the print
cartridge alignment sheet.
12. Press OK.

HELLO, MY WIFE BOUGHT A BROTHER MFC-685CW.WE Cant even get passed getting the buttons to work. when you depress any key it just beeps and does nothing. We have not even got to installing the drivers yet...


Hi,

Most multi purpose devices such as the Brother MFC-685CW has some sort of transport lock. This could either be plastic lugs/screws or nuts strategically located. In some versions, these could simple be plastic colored tape. The initial set-up instructional pamphlet should indicate where they are.

Your particular model has also yellow protection caps/tabs in place when transported without the ink, have you checked those?

Alternately, you can try a reset by simply unplugging the unit from the mains for a couple of hours.

INSTALLED NEW CARTRIGES AND PRINTER WILL NO RESUME PRINTING


hi maggievalley,

I need you to make absolutely sure that you followed the installation procedure of the cartridges correctly. Some manufacturers put a kind of tape on the cartridge when it ships from their factories to prevent ink from leaking out of the cartridge during transportation. This tape must be removed prior to installing the cartridge in a printer to allow the ink to flow out of the cartridge.
I suggest you remove the cartridges from your printer and reinstall them following the new cartridge installation guidelines of your printer's manufacturer step-by-step.

Brothe MFC-240C paper jam error msg won't clear


















**, it is not fixed. I followed instructions on Brother web site and was able to find a piece of paper near the printhead, so I removed it. The printer makes a grinding sound when it tries to print and the same paper jam error returns and can't be cleared. I beleive that the printer repair cost will be more expensive than replacing it with a different printer, and it won't be Brother brand. I probably would not be able or have the tools to do any complicated repair job.

Printer ink consumption


Even if you are not using it for printing, the ink inside the cartidge will be dry, some solutions composed in the ink can be easily be dry if it is exposed in excessive heat or cold..

Hi I have a Lexmark X63 and it says add left cartridge and will not print. I have however already done that. The computer says the printer is busy.


Try reinstalling the printer drivers and software, sometimes the printer does not communicate with your PC properly.

Hi,

Just to confirm pls:
1. the new print cartridges are original HP inks;
2. you have remove the bright pink tape from the ink cartridges;
3. the black is on the right side and the color is on the left side.

You can try removing both cartridges and clean the gold colored contacts where the pink tape was. Pls do the same to the mate pins in the cartridge holder in the printer.

Try again. If this does not be corrective, you may need to change inks again.
