ADF Paper Feed on Ricoh Aficio 1013

I made a copy using the glass function and now I cannot get paper to feed thru the ADF. I have tried unplugging the unit, cleaning, different paper, re-setting all the functions, etc.

Can you please help with a possible solution to help feed paper thru the ADF?

What causes the copy to be lopsided when using the feeder

I'm not sure what lopsided means??? Are you saying that the image is crooked? If you feed the paper 180 degree then the way you are feeding it now, are they still crooked? Also, do the pages get jammed? Also, look to see if one of the hings are broken? If one is broken, it's a dead give away for your problem. If that is not the problem, I would loosing up the screw that hold the adf on and move the adf a bit till the copies come out straight. Once the copies are coming out straight, tighting the adf hing screws and you are done...... Good Luck

Copy off glass copy is good. copy from ADF copy is blurry

The problem is either dirty glass for the ADF which you can clean, or the ADF cannot feed the paper you are trying to scan through accurately. Most smaller all in one printers use the same scanner element for both the ADF and flat glass scanning so the fact that glass scanning is fine points to the two problems listed above.

Horizontal streak

Clean the scanner strip glass. This is the small strip of glass that is just to the left of the large main glass. This is the only cause for black line (s) when copying using the ADF(top feed). If prints or copies fine from the glass then it is this strip glass needing to be cleaned.

When use adf with letter paper sise, push print botton then askme paper 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 inch´s, why do this?

is there any sensors on the adf unit, if so is the paper being feed into the adf unit, there might be a bad/defective sensor, try placing a letter size sheet on the document glass and make a copy, if it copies you have a problem with the adf, and it needs to be serviced

I have a ricoh spc232sf multifunction printer which is giving a error message of cannot copy and it says feeder adf what do i do?

the ADF is the upper cover where you put the document to be automatic feed by the machine, that is the part which you pull up when you want to copy on the exposure glass, on the left side of the ADF has a little door which you need to open. It is opened like a car door opener and pull it on the right side. see do have some paper inside if do not have paper close the door and lift the ADF in to up position and than set it back. with this you will rest the message.
Please answer do this is helpful for i to know do i should post some more information.

The 8 1/2 x 11 paper tray will not open - it is not jammed with paper as the print still prints, but we cannot dislodge the tray.

You need to forcibly open the tray, that's the only way. It could be the feed roller assy is gettin hung up.

Ricoh C21SF Automatic Document Feeder (ADF)

Take a little soap and a little water and clean the gray feed tire that is located in the document feeder. Check for any paper obstructions. If the machine has had a lot of prints I would replace the feed tire.
