Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW Dont Wont Open

Last night I could not open the door to the washer. The washer just started and I cam e down and it had only gone 2 minutes.

The DO code was on. The door lock light is not on. I pressed the stop/pause button and waited, nothing. Unplugged it, door still didnt release. Pulled on the door and it gives a little but feels stuck at the top where the latch is. When I was pulling on the door , the FL code also came up.

Now there is a short buzzing sound when I go to start and thats it, then the DO code comes up.

Any idea to get the door open or what the problem could be?

    SAME EXACT PROBLEM

exact same problem. Have not been able to find out what "DO" code specifies. Circuit board looks fine. Not sure about the door lock mechanism. There is a string of comments concerning this without resolution. Not sure why MAH6700AWW is posted product below.

There is a cord you can pull under the soap tray.

SOURCE: Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW washer thinks

As I have read solutions for my door not recognizing/not latching I see there could be several paths to a resolution. When I set my washer it reads the door is not shut. If I press okay it will render several clicks and shut off or just not begin a washing cycle. What is my true issue? How do I successfully repair this problem?

Maytag neptune mah5500bbw wont spin going through cycle

My Maytag Neptune MAH5500B or MAH5500BWW wouldn't spin either. It would go all the way through the wash cycle, agitation and all, as mentioned before, the spin cycle would start at the 9 minute mark, and get down to the 7 minutes then drop directly to 0 with no spin at all.

After hours of investigation it turned out the balance load switch was corroded. This switch is accessible through the front panel of the washer. The door must be removed and the front panel comes off, this switch is directly under the wash drum where there is a little electrical plug and switch which rests on top of stabilizer styrofoam. The connection was being made but there was green corrosion, and evidently the switch box was corroded within. When bypassed, the washer spun perfectly.

Hope this helps someone else out there - I was horrified to think that this washer would end up more landfill as it wouldn't be worthwhile to pay hundreds for a new motor control board as had been suggested was the problem.

If your washer doesn't seem to work at all, check these:

No power
Lid switch
No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped?

Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse.
