Try a known working monitor.
The onboard video may be defective and you may need to buy a video card.
Take out the memory and reseat it, as it may have gotten loose.
I hope this helps.
Good luck and have a great day.
You need to determine if you is turning off or going into standby mode. When your monitor shuts off, the power light will turn orange if it is in standby or the light will turn completely off if the monitor turns off. If your monitor goes to standby, that means that your monitor is losing signal which indicates a problem with your PC.
#1 Make sure cable is firmly secured and both screws are tight
#2 Check your video card make sure that it is firmly in its slot. Take it out and put it back in.
*as long as your computer is open give it a good cleaning with compressed air*
If those things check out it is possible that your video card has failed and needs to be replaced.
If your monitor is powering off
#1Check plugins- try something else (i.e. lamp) in the outlet
#2 Try your PC's power cord in your monitor
I suspect the power supply for the monitor. Try a power supply from a working monitor. If you have a used computer store nearby, take your power supply to them and try it on another monitor.
There is no need to turn off a monitor using its power switch. Monitors automatically go into standby mode when they are not receiving a signal. In standby mode they use less than one cent of electricity per day. If saving electricity is your goal, raise the temperature in your home by a degree and run the air conditioning less.
Alright let me be the first, let's check the simple things first. Did you try toggling the FN+F5 or FN+F6....if it is playing on the other monitor you already did that or it was toggled for dual monitor and that's why you're not getting any video.
