Maximize my laptops memory and speed

Is it showing in device manager as installed?This is a usual sign of graphic card beginnig to fail.

You just plug it in the card reader, it will appear in My Computer as an Removable media.

All batteries have a limited number of load cycles, so if your battery/laptop is older or has been used intensively, this could happen.

More memory can always help. How much Ram is installed currently?
Also, do you run any anti virus or anti spyware programs? Malware has been known for making machines crawl.
Ram on that laptop can be upgraded.
