Distorted noise in cd's loaded into I-tunes

I ave copied many cd's into my music library and they all have a background noise that is annoying. I copy the cd's by double clicking "convert selection to acc" Any song or podcast I download from Itunes etc is fine. I assume the problem is with my cd rom player. I'm thinking of taking it back and get a new cd romplayer installed. Do you agree?

Are your cds dirty or damaged? If they are in good shape then I agree and you should replace it.

Im trying to record my cd into my laptop but i am not getting anyway with it so how do i do it its not even playing

first check the cd drive, if its ok, make sure that what you want to record to your computer is on the cd, secondly if your cd has cracks, it may not copy. other wise if its an audio cd, make it play using window media player, on the left side of your media player, click on "copy from cd", a different window will appear with the list of your tracks and click on "copy music", and then go to my document- my music- unknown albulm, unknown artisc and then you will be able to see your music. if it is a data, mp3, vcd, dvd etc, open my computer, my disc and select all the files, copy and past to your favourete location

Goes straight to burn and doesen't copy

Which Program? There is a difference between Burn and Copy.

Copy means you have a CD or DvD that already has something on it such as a music CD or a movie DvD and you want to copy it. The system normally reads the CD or DvD and copies the contents to disk then asks you to put in a blank CD or DvD to make the copy.

Burn means you have Data Files, Documents or Music that is already on the disk drive and you want to put it on a Cd or DvD. Normally you just put in a blank CD or DvD then either Drop and Drag, Browse or Copy and Paste the files you want on the CD or DvD.

I cant download my cd's to my new hard drive?why

Copying files from a CD or DVD is a more detailed operation than down loading. In some cases you may need specialized software to accomplish the feat, such as Nero, In some cases you copy an image in order re-burn to another CD, in other cases you RIP music. See: http://portables.about.com/od/newsandviews/ss/how-to-rip-with-WMP.htm

on how to RIP music using a program in windows.

Copying a CD - How do I go from the DVD player to the hard drive and back to a blank CD? It's a Toshiba L300

Hi,

Pop your music CD into the drive and open it with Windows Media Player. In Media Player there is an option to "Rip" or "Copy" the CD.

Choose one of those options and copy the CD to the hard drive. After its been ripped you can then select the burn option and copy it to a blank CD.

It's as easy as that, however you cannot do this with DVD's just music CD's.

Please post back if you require anymore advice.

Regards.

Itunes file twice the size as library

when you add music to your itunes library, it copies them to the itunes music folder for itunes to manage it or itunes has every song twice in its library, to check whether itunes has not copied your music twice, view your music in LIST VIEW in itunes and if you see some songs has been copied twice delete on of them.
You can also delete the songs on your music folder to save disk space or you can leave them if you use another music player other than itunes.
But I think you should delete the files in your music folder.

Using dvd drive makes makes sounds

There is nothing wrong with your laptop. If you are copying a cd and trying to play music at the same time, you are pushing the processor power of your laptop or low on memory. When copying a cd it should rip it without sound to your hardrive, so i assume that your are playing music from your hardrive as well as ripping and this model of laptop i think comes standard with a 1.3ghz processor with 512mb of memory, which can easily be drained when ripping or burning.
