Universal Remote Woes

posted by hammygranny on Mar 05, 2008

I have a Phillips 21" TV/VCR Combo from about 2001. The remote gave out and I bought the Phillips Universal remote (the one from Wal*Mart, Silver with the blue buttos Its supposed to control TV/DVD/VCR/CD ) . Despite every attempt and way to try, As listed in the manual and online, I cant get it to control my TV. Please help.

Email sent: Most univ remotes provide a method of scanning codes. Example: You set the TV on, select TV on the remote, put it into code scan mode, scan TV codes 1 at a time and when the TV turns off, store the code. This should be in the remote's manual. Hope that helps... Geno
