Question about PC Laptops
HEY SORRY TO BOTHER... BUT IM GOING NUTS WITH THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE AN GATEWAY LAPTOP PC AND IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE A WEBCAM, BUT I DONT KNOW WHY IS NOT WORKING.
ITS SAID SOMETHING ABOUT: GRAPHIC RENDER FAIL OR SOMETHING...
THE WEB CAM IS INTEGRATED IN THE LAPTOP SO I DONT HAVE TO INSTALL NOTHING I THINK... PLEASE HELP ME. IF U NEED FURTHER DETAILS ABOUT THE WEBCAM LET ME KNOW.
AND JUST FOR THE RECORD, THE PRODUCT THAT I PUT IS NOT THE ONE THAT I HAVE... BUT I PUT THAT ONE BECAUSE MINE IS NOT ON THE LIST AND SAID IT WAS NOT VALID.

2 DAYS AGO IWAS USING MY GATEWAY LAPTOP USB 2 WEBCAM(MFR CHICONY) AND IT WORKED FINE. TODAY I TRIED TO DO A QUICK SNAP SHOT OF ME TO SEND IN AN E MAIL AND GRAPHIC RENDER FAIL CAME
UP ON THE SCREEN. wHAT DOES THIS MEAN AND WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT.
SORRY FOR CAPS--ITS HARDER FOR ME TO READ SMALL LETTERS.
Hi .I also have this problem with my gateway m6316 .I don`t use the windows live mess. but still my webcam works for 2 seconds after that it turns black It`s new....! do you have any solutions or maybe I should go back with it.

Hi , I have got a Gateway laptop which has built in cam .
it has windows vista installed , i have problem with the web cam . when i starts the cam for the first time it works fine and if i close and try to open web cam it says "no web cam connected"
can u please let me know the solution

Ricklw and all : One thing i did was disable windows live messenger as it seemed to be interefering with the web cam somehow--haven't had a problem since that disable of windows live messenger.

You've got graphic rendering problem bcos, the webcam drivers installed in your laptop don't work correctly. ie) the driver installed forces your webcam to take a snapshot at a resolution that is not supported by the webcam hardware...So, tell me ur laptop model number and I'll let u know abt the drivers....
