I'm assuming you mean "secure" as in wireless network security. To enable wireless network security, simply go to your router configuration page (default is http://192.168.1.1), log in (default password is "admin"), go to the "Wireless" tab, and select "Wireless Security". You can change your wireless security settings from this page- just make sure you set up all wireless clients accordingly. If you have somewhat recent wireless cards, use some type of WPA encryption, and in all cases, choose a password that people won't easily guess.

You may also want to change your SSID name. This can be done on the "Basic Wireless Settings" option in the "Wireless" tab.

Note- The above was based on the WRT54G router.

Well, securing means to enable an encription on it. whats wrong with the wizard?
goto security , theneasiest is 32 bit with encriotion
deselect send out ssid
rename ssid to something you remember
32bit needs a name in hex 1-8 a-f 1a2b3c4d5e ect
set those and you are secured as it gets with these routers
also check out the agming port forards. if your not into that stuff desellect those also.sparkyc

Hi,

Go to your network properties and at TCP/IP go to its properties.
go inside "advance" and then go inside the "Options menu".
Now enable the TCP/IP filtering and set to "permit only" enter the TCP/IP numbers of the workstation that you have... apply it to the three boxes (TCP, UDP and IP Protocols)

Hope this helps... Goodluck!!!

Unfortunately there is no way of recovering your password however if you reset your router it will allow you to connect to the internet without a password however this will make your router unsecure. To reset press and hold the reset button in the back of the modem for 15 seconds or until router resets, You may want to secure your router after, depending on what type of router you have you will want to go directly to the router website for example Netgear router www.netgear.com Linksys router www.linksys.com locate securing router on the website and it will show you step by step how to secure your router. Good Luck

Hi. How to I access the router to set security.

You should be able to use the setup CD that comes with it. otherwise you'll have to go into your browser and type...192.168.2.1. The is no password setup when the router ships initially. So just click submit to log in. As far as your security goes, that depends on you and your situation. Check the belkin site and obtain the owners manual. There may be something there. I hope this helps

Laptop stopped connecting via wifi to home network.

The wireless settings in the Belkin has been setup with encryption.
You can restore the Belkin back to the factory default by powering up the Belkin and press the RESET button for 7 secs.
It is not wise to leave your wireless router unsecured, anyone can access your network and Internet connection and use up your allocated download limit. Once you exceed your download limit you could be slug with addition charges - this depends upon your contract with your ISP.

Secure router

yes you can, you need to log into the router via the default gateway (quite often 192.168.1.1 , or 192.168.0.1 type that in your internet explorer.

If you get into the router that way , then you should be able to change the wireless settings in there.

Sorry to be vaugue i'm not familiar with that router
