Please check your batteries in the tv remote as they appear to be weak or dead. You will need to find the cable remote's paper guide in order to properly program the cable remote so it can change channels, volume, and power functions on the tv set.
If all other functions works, except channel buttons, your remote control need cleaning. Check the site liked here for more details about how to clean a remote control. Pull up older posts there. Do a search by entering thebrand name to your deviceby its search box at top right of the
display window, because, posts are not arranged in alphabetical order, but by
brand name first.
Hello; All TV's made in the last 20 years are computer controlled. The TV wants you to do a "scan ", so it can MEMORIZE all active channels. IF you are connecting your set to a cable BOX or OTHER, the set can only SEE the Channel 3 output from the boxes. No scan will work when doing this! In this case don't expect to be able to use the channel UP or Down keys on the set or remote, because the set does not know any channels due to no memory of a scan. You can, however key in the channel # and the set should go to that channel, unless the set is defective. John
Hi Guest, I can definitely help you with that, however if the screen is snowy we won't know if it's working until we get a picture.
To do that try changing TV2 to channel 60 and 73. If it only goes up to 69 put it on 60, if it goes to 73 then good. If still snowy, then go down to the main television and follow these steps. Menu -> System Setup(6) -> Installation(1) -> Modulator Setup(5). Go to TV 2 Out and change mode to Air if you put the TV2 on 60 and Cable if it's on 73 and select Done to save.Check the second TV for picture, and if it's still not showing then check cabling.
Once you have a picture back the remote should be working with it, if not feel free to post here!
Most universal remotes work the same. Try this. Just keep in mind when you select your item select cable. Here you go. This will work with most all universal remote controls. If you don't have the code do the following: Automatic Programming With automatic programming, the remote control tests all the codes available on the Code List and assigns the correct code for the selected device. Although this method can be more time-consuming, it eliminates the need to look up codes and enter them manually.
1. Turn off the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control (TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CAB or AUD) until POWER INDICATOR illuminates. It should take a couple of seconds for the light to remain solid. The remote control is in programming mode.
3. Press and release power button. The POWER INDICATOR flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.
4. Press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down repeatedly until the device turns on.
5. When the device turns on, press OK to store the code.
Note: • To exit without storing the code, press BACK. • T he unit will search for the next code or the previous code if you press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down after the device turns on. (go slow you need to press OK when the TV turns on) if you mess up turn TV off and start over. 6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.
