Plug it into your computer and use the link in itunes to restore your ipod. This will usually work. If it doesn't, then it is time to contact Apple support to cover your warranty, or take it back to the store.

Please wait for your ipod to discharge all the power it has.it might even take 2-3 days to discharge the power Then after the ipod is completely empty (which means its off and needs to be charged) you can connect it to your computer. Please make sure your computer is scanned from viruses. You can also scan your ipod from viruses. Never unplug your ipod before it completes synchronizing. Try resetting the ipod while its connected to the computer by holding both the menu and center button at the same time for 6-10 seconds until you see an apple appear on the screen. You may need to repeat the reset. If this fails your looking at a hardware issue most likely. Good Luck.
You should not plug the ipod to pc while it is playing because it is switches from the playing mode to sync and charging mode you can not play and use the ipod while it is connected with the software without ejecting it from itunes. You can reset your ipod by holding down the menu and select (round
button in the center) buttons down for at least 10 seconds. You'll see
an apple logo flash, that's when you stop pressing the buttons. It will
shut off, then back on.
