DVD disc won't play after using roxio's drag to disc

Hi guys,

I'm a uni student and I burnt some software from uni using roxio drag to disc. I have burnt many apps with the discs that I used so it shouldn't be a problem with the disc. Now when I came home I expected to just stick the disc in and it'd work fine but for some reason it won't read. It just makes the sound of a dvd player that makes the buzzing noise when the discs incompatible or corrupted.

Can someone please help me, how can I get it to work on my home computer, is this fixable or do I have to reburn using some other software.

thanks

Try the disc in another computer. If it works then the problem is with your dvd burner. If not try burning another disc, if your computer can read it when your done then it may have been a freak thing. If not reinstall roxio or get new software.

How can I burn a CD with a movie file to use on a DVD player?

First of all do you have the right kkind of dvd player?

I have a dvd player that plays DIVX movies, so I use Roxio software and burn a data cd of an avi. file. From my understanding AVI, DIVX, & MP4 can be read as a divx. Make sure you close you secission on the disc or it wont play.

If it only fails on home made discs the problem lies in how they were burnt.

PLAYING A CD-R ON THE DVD

this one sounds easy
ok lets look at the cd's-r your using are they brand new
and if brand new
then i would say that cd's and dvd's are coming out with new formats so that new cd's dvd's wont play in older equipment

now the other thing could be software and how the files movies or music was put onto the disc sometime software needs upgrade to support files on disc

is cd-r recognized by the dvd player as what i mean does it allow cd-r's to be played on the dvd player is this format supported

When I burn DVD's on my computer and play them on my DVD player, it says eject disc-playback feature may not be on this disc. I have played other computer burnt discs with no problems so I know my player...

hello... the solution to your problem is, at least try not to burn the disc with the Roxio software rather use Nero Startsmart essentials 7. the other thing is dont burn under the theme MP3 rather use data...if not download a codec for your player...

WON'T PLAY BURN DVD'S

There are two main families of DVD's, the minus (DVD-R/RW) and the plus (DVD+R/W). The most popular is the minus and almost all players can access this types. The newer and better DVD (plus) is not as popular like the minus. SOme players will not be able to read the plus. Check the DVD that you used, if it is DVD+R, try to use DVD-R
