I have a 2000 MPV. A few months ago the radio stopped picking up stations except for one. It picked up the other stations for a little while one day, and then stopped suddenly. My husband switched antennas and that didn't help. He bought another factory model radio (used, but tested and supposed to be in good working order) and the new one has the same problem. Did we get another radio with the same problem or is there something else wrong?

My XHD6425 seems to be very inconsistent... Sometimes I get okay reception, other times I get terrible reception (much worse than my original stock Ford radio). The reception problems are more noticeable on stations that are more than 30 miles away or so.
Perhaps oddest of all, I've sometimes had it bounce back and forth between two stations (like if you are driving and in the middle of nowhere, half way between two stations), even in areas where I know should be getting good reception on one station and had never heard of the other other station before.
If you've figured anything out, please let me know.
normally the problem you are describing means that your antenna is bad. typically, if you have no am good fm bad antenna if you had good am and no fm the fm section of your radio would be bad.
you can test this but you will need an antenna (this can be purchased at most car parts stores for about $10.00) pull out the radio unplug the black round plug from the back of the radio and plug in the new one ( the antenna plug is a universal fit) you will probably need to ground the base of the antenna for the test then turn your radio I'm sure this will fix your problem but if not you can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I have a car stereo purchased from the US and I can’t pick up all radio stations in Europe/UK, what can I do?
If you have purchased a car stereo from the US you will find that it
will not pick up many European radio stations. This is due to the fact
that US radio frequency steps are different to here in Europe.
You may be able to set the tuner to European stations by following this procedure.
Press and hold down the SRC button to power down the unit completely.
While the unit is off press button 1 & 5 together, while momentarily pressing the SRC button.
If this does not work try the following proceedure;
Press and hold buttons 1 and 5 together, while momentarily pressing the reset button.
If this does not work then the unit is not designed to pick up European frequency steps.
