Question about Washing Machines

2 Answers

I have a LG front loader washer (WM2277H) that is showing a dE error code each time I try to start the washer. I checked to make sure that the door was clear. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I unpluged the washer as instructed and plugged it back in after several minutes. After I turn on the washer, select a cycle and then hit the start button, I hear two clicks and the dE error code appears. This is continuing to occur. Any idea what is wrong? Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the comments. I tried the manual rotation and that did not fix the issue. I have now unplugged the unit and will try again tonight.

I'm starting to wonder if something could be wrong with the door lock device. This all started after I had a power failure error code PF that occurred while in the middle of a wash cycle. It appeared that it had completed the wash and spin cycle because there was no water in the drum. Instead of restarting the cycle, I turned the unit off. After I turned the washer back on I was unable to open the door to check if the clothes were done. I proceeded to push the door in pull out a couple of times and the door finally released. Note, I did not use excessive force, but I'm concerned that this might have messed up the magnetic door lock. Sorry for the long note. Any thoughts?

HI,

if I may add and with the indulgence of melnavz....

Try to reset the the microcomputer of the unit. This would mean unplugging it for a couple of hours even better overnight.

Another thing you can try is to manually rotate the drum a couple of turns.

Additionally, may I pls confirm that the error message is "dE" and not an "LE"?

Hope this be of additionalhelp/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    and hi again,

My initial post is a confirmation of melnavz solution. If it were a "dE" message, have you checked the drain for possible blockage?

    and hello again,

the drain problem of course can include the drain filter and hose. Pls check for filter clogging, kinks in the hose and similar possibilities.

    Cheers.

    Appreciate the reply back/update.

Normally, as long as there is no hardware/firmware fault, the system should reset after a couple of hours unplugged. Any errors encountered because of the power failure would be gone and the unit would reset to default.

If your "forcing" the door to open has not caused any mechanical fault, then there should be no problem. Most designs can tolerate a bit of "rough use" and your previous actions would not be enough to cause any electronic fault except for possibly mechanical mis-alignment if your particular model uses a latch to lock the door in place.

Nonetheless, will hold off any other diagnosis after the reset (unplug for hours) has been performed.

    Again, good luck.

There is no other option on that matter except replacing the panel board of your washer because maybe the circuitboard relay got error. You can do that by yourself or contacting the dealer of your washer to place it for you., melnavz

My lg front loader I close door push start get clicking noise at door switch and code de door error is it the door switch it fell off truck on to door face.

Error code 'DE' means a problem to lock the door.
Check that the door hook goes properly into the hole.
Check that you didn't put a lot of clothes in and these are pushing the door glass (maybe a test without clothes would be best).
Check that the door closes good and there are no broken pieces from the door.
If the problem insists, probably you need to change the electric door lock. Here is a video for your help. Generally, it is a cheap part. If you cannot do it yourself, you need to call an engineer.

Why does my LG washing machine model LG16115FD show error code dE please?

The dE error or fault code indicates that the door is not latching properly. Check the lid or door operation to be sure it's not binding and that the door alignment is correct. Also, check the door/lid hinges to be sure they're not binding. Finally, make sure the door catch is in place and not broken. You may need to replace the door hook/catch or the door lock assembly.

Washer is showing "TE" error even after replacing the thermistor

Try pressing spin speed and soild level at the same time. Is the temperature about 10 degrees C over the the selected temperature? If no, then try replacing the main board.

Also make sure the thermister isn't loose. That could cause your problem.

If the main board doesn't fix it, then you have to replace the heater assembly.

Im actually looking the the service manual your unit as we speak.

You may need to have the door switch replaced but before that should be done, make sure the wire connector is securely in place.
