About a month ago, our 3 yr old Jenn-Air froze up and the water container cracked. I replaced the container and the fridge worked fine until 2 days ago. Then the unit froze up again, but the water container didn't crack this time. I left it unplugged for a day to see if the evaporator would thaw out, but no luck. The fan in the fridge compartment wasn't running when I plugged it back in. Does this sound like a thermostat problem or a fan problem?

Re: JCD2295HES side by side not working correctly
Yes that does sound like a bad evap fan motor then unable to circulate air aorund and off hte evap thus building up frost.you can pull the wire leads of the fan motor and ck for 110v. to confirm that you are indeed getting power to the motor.

There is a good chance that the heater in the freezer is not working. If it is not working the coils in the freezer do not defrost and you won't be cooling either side. [cooling coils are froze up and the air fan cannot deliver cold air to either side and air fan cannot remove warm air from either side]. You might also want to check the defrost timer switch.
If the freezer is staying cold it sounds like a defrost system problem. A bad timer, heater or thermostat can cause frost to build up on the coils and block air flow to the refrig side. Check out ACMEHowTo.com for troubleshooting the defroster problem
first please check you water delivery chanel behiend icemaker, it may freeze up...
second you water valve on bottom part on the back is duel( one valve for water dispencer and another one for ice maker) you have to check if it is a power going to that icemaker valve, unplug icemaker inside freezer and plug back now check for power but you have acting fast, ask somebody for help...
and third it could be icemaker it self...

Chances are, they replaced the wrong parts, or didn't replace all the parts, assuming they replaced an electric motor kit. I would need to know the P/N of the electric motor kit to confirm what was replaced.
Based on the fact that it froze the drinking water tank, and if they replaced the electric motor kit, the problem is more likely the temperature sensor or the control board.
Let me know what the P/N is of what they replaced and we can be more precise.
