Question about Samsung HT-X50 System
Hey guys i just got this system and itll stay on for a while then will shut off. i tried changing the sleep mode to the off setting but it will not stay at the off selection and will still shut off and never in the same length of time. any clues as to ways how to fix it? any tips would be welcome
The disk get stuck in the player when the stop button is not pushed twice or sometimes I may need to push the disk button that it was in to retreive it. Sometimes shutting it off and then turning it back on must be done before doing this. I have had no other problems with the player besides this and my kids have put over 1,400 hours on it.Works Great.

I too had this same problem. It started last night and today has been shutting down every couple of minutes. I got out my manual and in the troubleshooting section there is a listing under smpton that says "The main unit is not working (Example: The power goes out or strange noise is heard.) The remedy says "Turn off the power and hold the STOP button for longer than 5 seconds." I tried this and it seemed to work, the unit did not shut off after a couple of mins the after maybe 10 mins it shut off. I did the reset function again and it worked for a bit then starting shutting down again. I called Samsung and they had me to unplug the unit and press and hold the power button for 10 secs while the unit was unplugged. They then had me to plug back in and put in a DVD. It came on and worked. it has now been over 15 mins and still has not shut off. Well I spoke too soon it is now shutting off again. called them back and they are having me ship it to them and they are going to fix it on their dime.

I've got the same problem too, just started last week. Got this system for Christmas and didn't hook everything up until the first of the year. Hubby didn't like it after I got it but I love it so it doesn't get used hardly at all, only when it's just me home. Bet it's got 30 hrs or less on it. My daughter was watching a movie and she said it kept shutting off. I was watching a movie this morning and it kept shutting off, kept saying "protection" and then "goodbye". I did the unplug & hold the button in, thought it worked for about 17 min....then it shut off. Since it's been under 90 days (by 3 days!) the store I bought it from says I can return it for another one. So I am on my way to do that. Want to stay with this brand but don't know what I'll do since others are having problems with this brand. Might choose another.

I've tried all of this too. I've found out that it shuts off whenever there is a loud noise. i.e. a car crash or loud punch or something. It happens at the same point every time, unless I turn the volume down really low. Hopefully I can get them to fix it on their dime too. Thanks for the support of knowing there are others out there!
