Question about Casio HR-8TEPlus Calculator

Open Question

Manual for Casio SR-5 - similar looking to HR model.

I picked up this calculator/printer but assume it's an old model. Is there a manual for it? Also, what paper does it use, as it's very narrow, about 1.25 - 1.5" wide. Beneath the display area it says " F 5/4 CUT ". I am in Australia - Western Australia - Perth.

This unit has dual power supply facilities - ac Adaptor or batteries. Have tried batteries and it seems to work.

Thanks for your msg. Yes, I did solve the problem. With a bit of extensive searching on the internet, I found 2 companies than stock both the print roller and paper for the Casio SR-5 calculator/printer and one that sells the manual for $9.99 (USD I think).

I also went to one of our large office retailers here "Officeworks" and just happened to get someone who knew of another company "Complete Office Supplies" in Osborne Park. The manager was most helpful, and HE stocked the correct paper rolls which I bought for $2 each. The rolls are 37mm x 70mm.

Further "fiddling" with the device helped me determine that the paper is fed from underneath at the back, instead of from the top as most people assumed, whilst pressing the arrow key.

    Cheers, Dianne.

SOURCE: printing problem

Try resetting the calculator. There should be a reset button on the underside of the machine. Press it with a pen and that should clear the E that is on your display.

SOURCE: loading paper tape

dear ednacharles

Well i would say to try going to various support websites for this make and model of device, and certainly customer support at casio might be a good place to start. If the device is somewhat obsolete now and you are not getting any joy with the guys at casio, then i reckon its going to have be a nice search on google, and under the search term i reckon it will have to be instruction manual, followed by your device/ make/ model number of product you have. This is what i would recommend as the silly little pictues that come in the instruction manual (no bigger than a credit card) often dont help at all, and sometimes can make the situation worse. thats why I avoid the paper manual and go electronic.

If push comes to shove and you really do get stuck on this (more stuck han a wee little piggy in deep mud) then you can try scanning the manual into a computer scanner, enlarging the image and go from there. Its a bit extreme, but i find it works, and not many people think of it, but trust me, image enhancement is the way to go with postage stamp size instruction manuals.

Of what I know about that type of device, there is usually a slide clip that is moved in order for the new/ replacement tape or paper roll to be fitted, and this then locks in place, and it may be worth knowing that the paper feeds under and over an ink roller that is located near the replaceable/ refillable cartridge. The paper roll may attach to the rear of the device by means of a spring loaded bolt that you pull open to change the paper roll, and should the device block up, then either press the feed button, or gently pull the paper through the top opening if you can see it, or from the back if you cannot get to it from the top.

I hope that this information was useful, and I hope to hear from you soon to find out how you got on

Best wishes and regards

Yours sincerely

Where can I find a user guide or manual for the Casio HR-100TM calculator?

Couldn't find a manual or user guide. The closest I got were two pages, one with the calculator, and one with the group of calculators that explains some of the functions.

If you have a specific questions, please ask.

Good luck,

Perhaps the manual will help:

The printer mechanism probably has build-up of ink and dirt which is causing the numbers to blur when it prints.

Is there a users manual?

casio, apparently, don't provide a user manual for this model ?
I found a few dubious links (some were dubious in content [they more like a casio mini-catalogue, I didn't investigate], and some looked like spam [they seemed to want to install an installer progam - I didn't investigate these further either.)
I found this which I didn't download or try in any way

be careful with downloads, after you download them before opening do a virus scan, and be on the look out for default liading of unwanted software.
