Magenta problem on Brother MFC-465CN printer

The print head may be plugged. there is a procedure to clean it in the printer maintemance menu

ink jet printers are notorious for ink drying up, that's why laser printers are a better deal when it comes to economy, they never dry up.

have you removed the contact protection tape (for cartridges with integrated printhead)

it is also possible that the cartridge connector needs cleaning both on the cartridge itself and on the printer

You should run a few cleanings. Push the ink button then down arrow for cleaning and push ok.

Yes. It will not print without all the ink cartridges having ink. Even if all you want to print has not color(just black), if magenta is out, it will not print. Very frustrating.

Check to see if the correct colour is in the correct place in the printer. You may have the Cyan and Magenta mixed up

If you have used generic ink the head is clogged and cant be cleaned anymore.

Last chance is to use original brother ink which has cleaning fluids within the ink. Run the cleaning procedure twice and simply print 10 PAGES afterwards. Wait A DAY AND TRY TO PRINT IN MAG AGAIN:

If there will be no mag. the ph is definitley clogged and needs replacement.
