Question about Microwave Ovens

2 Answers

I own an old Saeco Magic Roma, which I brought to the US from Europe. I believe the model is not available in the USA. A while ago the machine quit working. The motor that drives the brew group starts when I turn the coffee maker on, or when I close the door on the side, but the notch that moves the brew group seems to be stuck. It only moves a millimeter and then stops and goes back to its starting position, even though the brew group is not attached (for tests I disabled the switch at the door). Right now I cannot put the brew group back into the coffee maker, because that notch does not align with the brew group.

oops, got into the wrong group. Should be with coffee makers

    Hi Ginko,

thanks for the quick reply. I opened the coffee maker now, and even had to open the compartment of the motor to see more.
When I turn on the power, the large wheel turns counter clockwise until the notch hits the switch, then it returns to the position as seen in the picture. Normally the motor would run for about five seconds.
While playing with the position of the wheel unfortunately I broke one of the switches you see here. So there is the next challenge, finding that part, without having the first problem solved

You need to find out what keep the brew group from moving. You will need to disassemble part of the machine.
Here are the schematics.
Hope they may help you

Turntable

The turntable motor is defective, since it is 6 months old your warranty should cover the repair or replacement of the microwave oven.

I was recently given an old Magic Chef MCM980ARW microwave. Have looked but cannot find a manual for it. Does anyone know where this may be available?

You can probably find the manual for a similar model that's close enough here.

For more help from Magic Chef / Ewave see here or their contact page or order it here.

Maytag MMV4205BA internal fan quits

As promised, here is your solution information:

You can download Maytag owner's manuals, installation instructions, and parts lists here.

You can find the service manual (which may not have a parts list) by selecting Literature by Model on this page and entering your exact model number with suffix. (Also try it without suffix if you have trouble).

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

You need all three of those documents in some cases.

Finally, you can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

At our site, we now have a video available showing how to remove a typical control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

The handle on my daewoo microwve over the range model#KOT-210UW broke off and was looking for a new one - can you help - Its about 14 years old?

I would contact either Magic Chef or Daewoo for a new part, if it is still available after so long.

I would try these numbers, plus any they might recommend:

Daewoo
877-393-2725
800-553-4355
800-323-9668

Magic Chef
888-775-0202

Good luck!

Model no. correct??

It doesn't look like a valid Magic Chef model number.

The word "model" will appear beside it on the model / serial tag on the unit.

Also, you can check this page for recent Magic Chef models.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.
