Since this laptop is not a tray load but a slot load, there is nothing I can do, use a pin to push a button or something similar to get the CD out. Please help!!!
There is no emergency eject button/pin-hole in XPS M1530 laptopsas these systems are shipped with the slot load DVD drives and not the conventional tray-load drives.
If the disk is stuck, you can try one of the following steps:
1) Try ejecting the disk from within the OS. Right click on the drive icon in 'My Computer' and click on Eject.
2) Repeat step 1 in Safe mode.
3) If the same doesn't work. Try flashing the BIOS to version A12 from the Dell support website. and try ejecting the disk again.
If the disk is still doesn't eject, you may have inserted an incorrect size disk, or the disk may have broken. A replacement may only fix the problem in that case.
I do believe that there is still a small hole by that slot, that you can insert a straightened paper Clip into, and keep pushing until you feel/hear a slight, click, keep pushing gently and the disk should soon appear. IF you cannot do that the DVD will be removable by taking out the fasteners underneath the laptop,, and sliding the DVD out. for repair of replacement.
