The battery on my Palm TX ran out over the weekend and when I plugged it back in the screen came up upsidedown. Everything is backwards, what the screen shows is exactly opposite of what it should be, although the screen recognizes where the buttons are supposed to be. Any ideas?

Palm Desktop and HotSync won't destroy the data on your device if you have a fresh copy that doesn't have your data backed up. That said, however, look for free utilities that will back up your TX's data to an SD card should HotSync wipe your TX as well.
You need to perform full reset which will erase all personal data and set everything to factory default. You need to press reset and power button to perform full reset. It will give you confirmation once you choose yes it will perform hard reset
If issue persist you may disconnect and reconnect to internal battery
Actually palm depend on main battery thats why system doesnt let it to drain to protect the data. However its true that there is such thing called "External battery" or "Battery Extender" Basically its a simple battery pack. Its convenient when you far away to AC outlet. It usually looks like this
When the battery is discharged, it is best to charge it overnite.
Have you reset the TX?
Hold the power button down and push in the reset button on the back of the TX with the stylus. Hold the power button down until you get the screen where it ask you if you want to erase/reset the unit. click yes to reset.
Then when it comes back up, re-sync it with the Palm Desktop on your computer.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
Replace the Battery. This has either a faulty Or Discharging Battery.
Even brand new items can have a faulty battery, or charging system
i,d suggest returning for replacement or refund, if it,s new/warranted.
Try this, uninstall your current version of Palm Desktop, then go to this link on the Palm support website http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na/tungsten/tx/unlocked/home/page_en.html this will give you the link to the download for the TX version of Palm Desktop, this may or may not fix your particular problem but it is worth a try.
