Sorry to hear you are experiencing that problem. The Lexmark x1150 is actually discontinued. So there is no driver for Windows 8. You can try downloading the Windows Vista driver. If that does not work then you should go to Add Printer on your computer and choose the USB connection. Then it will show you makes and models of printers. Choose Lexmark and then for model look for x1150. If that is not there then choose any one of the AIO models, your printer will work. Good luck!
You can download it from below link.
Click on above link then download driver for vista it is compatible with windows 7 as lexmark says.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.
Yes, The printer drivers are determined by the operation system therefore it does not matter what brand of computer. If you have the disk that came with the printer you can load the drivers on your HP computer. If not you can go to the link below and select your operating system and download the current driver. Also unplug printer usb cable before installing drivers, and start installer file using right mouse button click, and then the option 'Run as administrator. Also disable antivirus/firewall before installing.
I have a Lexmark 1100 series printer that works with my Dell XPS M1530. So it is possible. I found this driver, http://www.xpvistasite.com/lexmark_x5130_8613.htm.
I never mess with the printer cd. I just pluged it in and vista found a driver for it. I only use the printer and the scanner.
