This is a common problem with all Samsung flat panels. The problem is caused by faulty capacitors on the Power board. It is an easy fix if you have basic soldering skills. You can also call Samsung and see if your tv is covered under the class action and they will send a tech out to replace the board.

This sounds similar to a known problem with bad capacitors in some Samsung TVs. Even though the TV is out of warranty, Samsung extend the repair period for affected TVs. Get your TV model and serial number off the back and then call Samsung at: 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864).
Explain the problem and let them know that you have heard about similar problems and heard they were being repaired out of warranty. In my case, they sent a tech out and did the repair for free.
If for some reason they will not do it, the repair is quite simple for someone who can solder and you can find details here: http://www.thebuzzmedia.com/samsung-tv-capacitor-clicking-issue-and-free-repair/
