I HAVE A HARMAN KARD HK300XM. THE DRIVE KEEPS DROPPING OUT WHILE PLAYING. WE CLEANED BUT TO NO SATISFACTION. EMAILED AN ON-INE REPAIR SHOP DEDICATED TO HK BUT THEY NEVER ANSWERED. ANY SUGGESTIONS? I...

If the tape drive isn't functioning correctly on your HK300XM it is most likely best that you take the device for repair a local radio - electronics repair man should be able to fix the problem with the tape drive, as its generally the same as in normal radios. Does the shop you contacted have a phone number have you tried calling them?

I need a code for my BLAUPUNKT Radio serial no BP2015R7563321 which came with Rover 623

There is no info on the internet for the unlock. But, I do know if you contact blaupunkt and give them the serial number, they will unlock it for free.

Vauxhall astra radio keeps switching on and off on its own

I had this problem for the last 2 weeks, didn't think much of it, but recently the car radio just turned on and off by itself, it decided to do so whilst the car was switched off and it drained my battery. After doing some tests with the Amp meter and removing the fuses for the radio and infotainment system the amps going through the batter went from about 0.7 to 0.001 (far more accpetable) - so the radio was draining the battery and randomly turning itself on/changing stations and the internal display system had stopped working.

after putting the fuses back in and re-testing the radio worked fine (almost like it had a full reset - no random turning on and off OR changing of radio stations)

the fuse box for my astra was next to the battery under the bonnet (see your car manual - I had lost mine so googled for it)

http://pdfcast.org/pdf/2006-vauxhall-astra-owners-manual-operation-safety-and-maintenance

PAGE (267 or 265)

but it seems yanking the fuses for the radio (FUSE number 35 and 36) seemed to fix it (been a few days and no flat battery) -

It maybe an intermitent fault, in which case i'll have it looked into, but as garages charge an arm and a leg i'd give this solution a go and if your battery is good all you need to do is remove the fuses and put them back after say a minute or so)

Siemans NCDC 2015 Car Radio/Sat Nav/Telephone/ CD player

Heres a question....does the main power switch "feel" like the others.

The main power switch is one of those that gets a workout. After looking at some images, I am going to guess that it is what is called a "Tac" ( short for tactile ) switch.

How do you tell if it feels right?.....go to the least used switch on the unit ( is should theoretically be like new if it is the least used ) ,and very slowly push it in. What do you feel?....some resistance and then it gives?.....do you hear a slight snap ( make sure the unit is off or the volume is all the way down ). Now go to the power switch....does it feel the same ? A sign that ths switch is finished is that there is no travel to it, that is, when you push is it stops immediately....the least used switch should have a little "room" in it before it hits bottom and makes the connection.....I'll bet the switch is shot.......give it a go......Thanks..Rob

If you can feel a big difference in the switches, then I would take it to a local electronics shop and see it they can replace the switch ( those type of tac switches are EVERYWHERE ), or maybe find a seimens shop and have them look at it.....better than 1500 !!!!
