My speakers won't work.

I have replugged all of the speaker's plugs after finding out my Altec Lansing speakers won't work. They are model VS4121BLK. I ahve checked the speaker button the the tool bar that that is on max volume. On youtube, I have checked that the speaker button is on, and it is. So everything is on but my speakers won't work.

Did you connect them to the computer through the proper plug? Sometimes people will plug them into the microphone plug instead of the speaker plug.

See if that is the case. Also, some sound cards may have a line out plug that will work as well.

Good luck.

Speakers will not "turn on",

Hi. You might want to try a different set of speakers or try the Altec Lansing on a different computer to isolate the issue. This can tell you if the problem is with the computer's sound card or your speakers. If the speakers won't work with any PC, try checking if the wires are all good and/ or soldered properly. Be cautious while doing this. make sure the speakers are not plugged in to any power source. I hope this helps. :-)

Only one speaker works - altec lansing computer speakers ADA215

The solution is actually quite simple, due to a design flaw. Altec lansing designed a rather cheap mini din plug-in which can either be replaced or repaired depending on your skill and patience level. Your ground contact is fine BUT the positive contact is not making connection due to the fact that the plastic housing has broken away and pulled the contact with it. This can be super glued back into place or just replaced with a new mono minidin plug-in.

I have altec lansing speakers AVS500 and have no sound

It sounds like the subwoofer speaker has blown. If you are comfortable working with a soldering iron and speakers then you can open the case and replace the speaker with a replacement subwoofer speaker. A good online store for replacement speakers is PartsExpress.com

Altec Lansing computer speakers , power requirements

You have to find out what the speakers are rated at then go form there. There is usually a placard or sticker on the back that says what watts and voltage they are rated at. Then you have to find out what plug goes in. Or you just buy an OEM plug

Vista messed up speakers

hi Avsandrick
Happy Holidays!
Doing a driver search don't help much, so I recommend 2 things here, wait until MS, make a Service Pack Cd, for Vista, or go to the Altec Lansing Page and see if for your particular model, there are drivers for vista.
other than that, a generic sound driver, could fix the problem.
