Vizio 37" LCD color problem!

Red tint on picture while watching t.v. or playing xbox. Every channel just seems to have more of a reddish hue. This model doesn't allow me to change the red, blue and green hues.

I have the same problem with my Vizio 37" too. Mine is less than 6 months old. I decided to go back to the store where I purchased it, before I was going to call for warranty work. I purchased the Visio because at that time in the store the picture looked just as good as the more expensive tv's there that were all in the same row. When I returned to the store, I asked the sales man if that was the same Visio that was on display when I purchased mine. And it was. Now in comparison to the other tv's there the Visio's color was just like mine at home, dark with red tints. It look horrible. This must be a common fault with this tv. Has anyone else had this problem and gotten it fixed?

Our's is about 9 months old and we are having the same problem. It started about 2 months after we got it and then mysteriously went away after about 2 weeks. Then about 1 month ago it started again but has yet to clear up. We haven't found a solution and are regretful that we spent that kind of money on this televison. Our old 19" worked great, survived an earthquake and lasted almost 15 years. So much for modern technology.

Is the TV still under warranty. if it is I would call Vizio and request a main board be switch and if it is not under warranty I would call a TV Repair shop and have them put in a Main Board.

My Hitachi 65F59 has a very low green level. If I set the tint all the way on Green, I see some small amounts of green spots on scenes, but scenes which should be completely green are mostly a beige ugly...

SUGGESTIONS TO RESOLVE WHERE THE PROBLEM IS:

1. GO TO A BLACK AND WHITE CHANNEL OR PROGRAM AND TURN THE COLOR IN THE CUSTOMER MENU ALL THE WAY DOWN.

IS THE PICTURE BLACK AND WHITE OR REDDISH ETC?

iF THIS IS THE CASE I CAN TELL YOU HOW TO ADJUST THE SET MANUALLY--NOT WITH THE REMOTE BUT IN A DIFFERENT WAY.

I am here to help people and if this helps you rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Make the check to see if you have a BW picture or not, if not respond and I will tell you how to adjust---it will take about ten minutes to do it.

Hitachi RP CRT Gone Red On All Inputs!!!

I want you to do a simple visual check of something that will tell me what the problem may be.

Go to a channel that is in black and white--old movie and tell me what color the screen/picture is.

You can also turn the COLOR in the customer menu all the way off and look that way.

What we are trying to see here is if TRACKING is set correctly or has changed. If the screen is somewhat to medium reddish it may be an adjustment outside of the customer menu.

Let me know what you find--I have seen several of these where the black and white picture was somewhat red--the idea is it should be as close to black and white as possible--if red is the predominant background color the picture will look reddish.

If this has helped and you confirm the red instead of black and white picture--I can tell you a easy way to adjust this.

If this information told you something you did not know and helps you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Sony KP-53HS30 Projection TV has pink and blue hue w/timer blink

Depending on your TV, you may have a Color Temperature (Color Temp) and/or Hue setting in the menu. Use these options to adjust the picture to the setting that best suits your viewing preference.
If your TV has a Color Temp setting, you will normally have the following options to select from:
  • Cool: Gives the picture a cooler, slightly bluish appearance.
  • Neutral: Gives the picture a neutral, more natural look and appearance.
  • Warm: Gives the picture a warmer, slightly reddish appearance.
If your TV has a Hue setting, follow the appropriate step below to make adjustments:
  1. Move the setting to the right to reduce the reddish appearance.
  2. Move the setting to the left to reduce the greenish appearance.

50V715 HITACHI -GREENISH TINT -

Solution for the Hitachi 50V715. I contacted Hitachi and they told me there is a problem with the color engine with this and other Hitachi models. They will replace the part for free, but first I need to take it to a repair shop to verify the problem and I have to pay labor. Not too bad considering the cost of the engine.
