If the TV is under warranty, give them hell. Shouldn't pay more than the TV is worth for shipping, any less a dime.
If not under warranty, best to have a TV tech to come to your home to diagnose the problem. Depending on where you live, independent TV repair shop will charge about $100 for the diagnoses service. Common things that go bad for plasma TVs is the Power Supply Board or the Y buffer/main parts. Basically, cheaper to have someone come to you.

Samsung 50 " plasma. PN50A450P1DXZA my screen went out a few days ago. the red power light when the tv is off blinks a lot when i try to turn it on. after a min or so the white light under the logo turns...

I have the same problem. No video just audio.
No on screen display visible either (volume, channel labels) nothing.

Samsung tried to repair this under warranty TWICE within 2 months. Second time they replaced circuit board and it worked for another 8 months. So I paid $1.500 for a TV that died again after 1,5 year - this is ridiculous.

I have no idea what the reason might be and I wont try to fix this since samsung tech could not fix it without replacing circuit board.

I have a Vizio 50 Plasma TV. Sound works but display is "noise".

It'll be the X or Y boards or maybe the power board, without checking the VA and VS voltages I can't tell.

My dell 2600 will not turn on.

betaspace, Stop fooling around with the remote! The W2600 is broke. You will not fix it. Here are the options you as a consumer/user have. 1. Dell warranty? Check with Dell and claim premature failure of the set. Maybe they'll tell you to take a hike. Who knows? 2. See if they have a swapout program. You send them your's + some cash and they ship you a refurbished same model in return. 3 Contract a local TV/LCD monitor service center that knows forwards and backwards all about SMPS's/CCF lighting and their inverter power source. That's about all I can tell you to do. If you ever need to ship any kind of plasma or lcd display follow this rule! NOTHING but a layer of pure AIR 4" thick should ever be allowed to contact the viewing screen. Only AIR! No feather pillows! No styrofoam popcorn shipping material! No crumpled-up newspapers! Nothing but AIR! I'm louie12fix on fixya or lmistyrel@ aim.com

It Turns on and I have audio and functionality, but no screen activity. The screen just stopped working. I have sound and I am able to turn on and off.

Most likely it is your y-board. I was able to order it from Coretronic in Taiwan. Email
[email protected] . I had to wire 263.20 for the part and had it delivered in about a week. My TV repair shop installed and now the TV is working great.

Dell w5001c 50 inch HDTV Plasma

power no video, is an indication of a bad panel. It usually requires changing the power board, and the panel. this supplies all boards to receive the proper voltage to correspond with each other to make the TV work again including the LCD panel. also the revision code and firmware needs to be current, to prevent future programming failures.

42HP66 - Cracked the Glass plasma screen

It is worthless. The glass itself is the sealed plasma display unit. once it is cracked it will not work correctly. The most expensive part of the set.
