Printing Black Page

Hello,

We have a printer Sharp 2950 M and most recently we have tried to print fax using Sharp FO29ND Developer Kit with Toner a compatible brand, and for those three times fax page was black, and nothing on it. Would it be a printer drum issue?

Thanks for help,
Jerry

It sounds like you have lost the ground connection to the drum or housing.
I would suspect if you remove the cartridges and look carefully for the contacts on the cartridges and in the machine you will find either a dirty contact, a spring off, or it is possible a coincidence that one cartrigde failed.
Printing black is caused normally by a loss of ground contact or a high voltage arc.
Check the contacts and make sure everything is seated properly, and replace a cartridge

Hope this helps :)

Printing black on paper

Some of these machines will allow you to printe a grey scale test copy.
This will readjust the fax machine back to a nominal mode.
Not knowing how old or how long the machine has been serviced, background can be caused by dirty optics somewhere in the machine.
A remanufactured drum unit can cause this type of problem, (defective unit)
Competitive toner in the toner unit can cause poor copy quality.
Reinstall the old cartrige and see if the problem changes.
Not knowing if the machine has a seperate drum unit and developer housing, it would be hard to answer anything else.

We just changed the toner in our fax, and now it's printing solid black pages out. Help!

Unplug the cable that connects the computer and printer together.
Plug the printer power cord into a wall outlet.
Print a self-test to determine if the problem is related to the printer, rather than the software.
If the problem occurs on the self-test page, replace the toner cartridge. A faulty or damaged cartridge may cause black pages.
Remove all accessories (cartridges, memory, I/O boards, etc.) and try to print a self-test again. Faulty accessories may cause black pages to be produced.
If the problem persists, the printer may need to be serviced.

Thanks

We have the Xerox WorkCentre 665 and it's printing so light.

You can pull the developer houseing out. Wipe the mag roll, so it has a shinny area.
in a small area. Enter the developer housing in again.
Try running a copy.
Remove the developer housing and see if the mag roll moved. If it did not and it is still shinny and clean, this is the problem with light copies. Possibley bad developer housing or ciruit boards. Both are costly.

One other area is, if the developer housing is working, see what brand of toner you are using on this machine?

If it is a brand other than Xerox, dump it all out.
The developer housing has to be completely emptied.
Enter the Xerox toner and see how it works.

Also, a bad Transfer corotron can cause this problem, it may be arching in the blocks.

If all else fails, call Xerox for this major repair.

Black pages when making a copy or printing something

Have you tried both drum and toner supplies? cause it sounds like a drum fault, if you have tried a new drum and toner, and it is doing it when printing internal reports, receiving fax's and copying then you have a tecnical issue to do with charge and this would likely render machine unecomical to repair (unless you can find a bad contact with drum on machine). If it receives faxs clearly but copys black then it is different issue (ie optics).
