Cadco convention oven chimmy not working

There could be a few reasons why your Cadco convention oven isn't producing steam. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Make sure the water reservoir is filled. The oven won't produce steam if there's no water to create it.
  2. Check the steam valve to ensure it's open. If it's closed, the steam won't be able to escape the oven.
  3. Clean the steam generator. Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the generator, reducing its efficiency.
  4. Check the heating element. If the element is damaged or not functioning properly, it could be causing the wheezing noise you're hearing.
If these troubleshooting steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that there is a more serious problem with the oven. In that case, it may be best to contact a professional appliance repair service for further assistance.

Can I manually wire around an in-shower control ? model sn 203834

Go back to where the generator is installed. You will see there is a grey control cable going into the right side of the generator where all the plumbing lines are. At the very end of the cable you will see there is a red, white, black and maybe a brown strand coming out of the end of the grey cable that goes into a molex connection that plugs into the side of the generator. Keep in mind where you see the red and white strand connected, which should be the two top female ports on the 4 port connection. Unplug the cable and take a metal paperclip or jumper wire and jump across the two top ports, keep the connection in place. This should cause the unit to fill and then produce steam. If it does, this could mean the controller has gone bad, possibly due to moisture damage. You can also remove the controller from the wall and jump the red and white wire that connects to the back of that controller just the same to isolate if the control cable is bad.

I have the Mr Steam MS Super 1 T steam unit with the Tempo Plus accessories and auto flush. The unit has worked great for about 2 years but for some reason yesterday the unit light comes on at the...

You would need a multi-meter or voltmeter to trace the power path. Turn on the generator and wait until you hear the water feed solenoid stop. This means the water has reached the satisfied level and the pc board should have sent 24v to engage the contactor. On the actual pc board there is a section label "cont" which is what sends the 24v to the contactor the engage the heating element. Verify that you have 24v on the spade terminals going out to the contactor, if not then you may have a pc board issue. Second possibility is the contactor, if it is recieving 24v and it is not engaging then it's simply a bad contactor. Check the load side of the contactors with the blue wires. Lastly if these two steps check ok, then perform an ohm reading with a multimeter on the actual heating element(with the power off, put your two test leads on the two flathead screws that hold down the blue leads the go to the heating element). If you get an open reading then this may indicate a failed heating element. Pulling the heating element out on the left side panel will confirm any element failure.

Why does my Aprilaire humidifier gurgle?

Mine was doing the same thing...first month of operation (installed toward end of heating season) = no problems with noise (bubbling, gurgling) though the duct work - started second year toward middle of season. Now its been running for a few weeks and is intolerable. I dug out owners manual and it did not address this at all. I dug out the installation manual and viola! Gurgling is caused by excess condensation in the steam hose. Sure enough the steam hose had a small area depression and did NOT have the constant downward slope necessary - installation instructions are VERY specific about needing a slope in order to allow condense to drain from the steam house. The zip-tie installation had slide down from a vertical stabilizing pipe & allowed for the hose to sag in the middle (nice install job slacker). I adjusted it and the SOUND IS GONE. Hope this helps someone else.

My shower drain gurgles when the washing machine drains

The drain from your washer is tied to your shower drain and it is receiving air from your shower drain. Maybe your washer drain is not vented. This should not be a major concern if you can live with the noise.

Why does the coffee maker make a loud noise right before it brews the coffee?

Usually this is the expansion of steam as the heating element quickly rises to the preset temperature. This process heats the water to the correct temperature and causes the water to flow upward from the water reservoir. Then out the brewing spout over the coffee grounds.

It will usually make strange noises at the end of this cycle too.
The water is used up and remaining steam is vented.
Sounds more like a burping and last minute gurgle really. :)

Hope this helps!
