My clean solution tank is leaking from the bottom, too. It is not a hose or a valve. The clean solution tank is leaking in-between the clear plastic walls of the solution tank & the grey plastic bottom that are connected, together. I was thinking of caulking it all around the bottom where the clear plastic sides join the grey bottom plastic. I can't get into ordering a new one (spending $) unless Hoover will send me a new one for free. Purchased at Kohl's in Massapequa, NY in June 2008. There's a one year warrantee AND the directions say to EMPTY the solution tank after each use. Which I normally do because the tank runs dry.
see the causes and proceed with common sense. and fix it. God bless you If the spray function has quit working on the carpet cleaner,
check to make sure there is a full tank of water. If the water level is
adequate, check the position of the gasket on the bottom of the water
tank assembly. The gasket can become lodged, damaged, or removed. If
this has happened, fix the gasket to the proper position according to
the user manual, or replace the damaged or missing gasket.
Change the belt on a steam cleaner that has
inoperable brushes. From time to time, belts on carpet steam cleaners
become worn, and you must replace them. If the brushes on your unit have
stop moving or do not turn on, you may have a damaged belt.
Replace a belt at home easily with little expense. Refer to your
user's manual for replacement instructions and the part number for
purchasing the belt. Remove and replace the belt according to the model
of steam cleaner you own. Purchase a new belt at home
improvement stores or directly
Please remove the brush assembly by pulling down from the bottom of the cleaner. There is a drive pin to the brushes, approximately 1/4 inch square and two inches long that connects the brush to the drive mechanism. You may have broken the pin off, and need to replace the brushes.
http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=0&thid=761645 Generic problem for all Vacuums We purchased a Hoover Steam/Vac Posted by hjopmi on Jul 09, 2008 We purchased a Hoover Steam/Vac (F5915-900) cleaner. We assumed it be a combination STEAM and Vacuum machine. Where is the Steam? I will await your reply. Thank You. Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. I have a similar Hoover “SteamVac” and the vacuum does not create steam as you stated, but you do have to use the hottest water with cleaning solution and the Hoover will clean your carpet by spraying down the solution, the scrubbing brushes will loosen the dirt and the vacuum will pickup the excess water until the holding tank is full and then you have to empty it, and then start again. The word “Steam Vac” is something that the Hoover factory labeled but so far I have not seen anything that actual produces “Steam” while cleaning. Feel free to contact the Hoover factory with your complaint @ the information listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://www.hoover.com Telephone Contact our Customer Service Department at 1.330.499.9499 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. EST Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead. http://www.geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=618767&thid=407245 Hoover Steam Vac Clean Surge Posted by just a brat on Feb 22, 2008 I can not seem to get the attachment for the upholstery cleaner to operate what am i doing wrong???? Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The attachment works on the suction from the Hoover Steam Vac and it’s either a straight suction tool or a revolving brush, check the front of the machine to see if the is a switch to turn on and odd, also before you attach the upholstery tool check the end of the hose for suction, it may be that your upholstery tool may be clogged or the brushes are not spinning and a part may be broken. Feel free to check with you local vac dealer or a new or a good used part if you find out what is wrong.
