You should use minimum of 1/4" lag bolts by 2'" long.
Find a wall stud, and drive the bolts(one above the other into the wall through the mounting bracket holes.

No screws for wall mounting 42 inch tv

any hardware store will have them bring your tv manual with you it will tell you the spec on the screw to connect to the 4 pre existing nuts on the back of the tv as far as from the mount to wall it will be a standard lag bolt small enough to fit threw the hole and long enough to go threw the drywall and about an inch and a half of the studd 2" to 2 1/2" inch lag bolt will work

How do you remove the table stand from a 19 inch Grundig TV so that a wall bracket may be fitted? Released three screws at rear on the mounting but it would not come off.

Remove base from TV

Remove 4 screws holding the vertical metal bracket in place. These are located just above the bottom of the rear centre of the TV. The bracket will then slide out.

You might find it easier to remove the footplate first. Simply remove all screws from the bottom of the base. The metal plate and the plastic shield will then detach.
