Door not making connection??? remove the cabinet, and check all switches at least 3 switches in there that need to be making contact, any one being bad, will prevent unit from heating. check also the switch holder(s), that might be broken preventing proper connection

I have to slam the door 5 times to get it to turn on

Have you tried leaving it after GENTLY closing the door once? Many have a timer so that the fan can remove condensation from the inside. If that doesn't work, you need to take it to the nearest Panasonic service centre to have the door microswitch adjusted or replaced. There are no self serviceable options with microwave ovens due to the disastrous damage operating one without the outer case can cause. The use special screws only the tech carry.

At least you have a good make, so worth having it fixed. I used Panasonic ovens in a restaurant setting.

Panasonic 1200 watt microwave shuts down in 10-15 seconds

Check the door switches to make sure they are not faulty, otherwise it may be the inverter.

IS the microwave in a cavity? If so, you need to have at least 15cm (6in) space above the microwave, 10cm (4in) behind the microwave, and 5cm (2in) on either side, as the latest Inverter microwaves run very hot and need a lot of ventilation.

The handle broke off of our GE spacesaver microwave. i got a replacement handle but i cant figure out how to take the door apart. anybody have a suggestion?

On MOST microwave ovens, you just have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to replace the door handle:

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Cleaning interior of microwave door

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

We're happy to help you and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.
